My sister wrote this poem before she killed herself, my family wants to publish her poems but I need to know if she is a good writer or if she was just depressed......

AM I Alone?

sometimes, i get this funny feeling,
it comes from deep inside.
i get so mad and angry
all i wanna do is run and hide.

my doctor calls it depression
my father says its just me.
noone will ever be able to see.

He says im psycho,
he says im weird
its as if im a different person,
the old me just faded away.

i get really upset and angry
i want to die so bad
then i get a headache
and then i start to cry.

i wish he would help
i wish it just went away
maybe if i pray real hard
someday..........
im gonna fade away.

OMG Kate, ur sisters poems are wonderful ur mom nad dad are right you should publish them. Remember back in 3rd grade when she first started writin like that? thats when we knew she was depressed, but she wrote from the heart. Look how many times she helped us in english when we had to read those poems and tell Mr. P what they meant to us, if it wasnt for Rach we would have failed english. I miss her too hunny, but do the right thing. Publish her poems she wanted you to do it for her, remember the note she left us.
" im sorry im gone and it ended like this, finish what i started.
finish my poetry book and give it to my daughter when she gets older. be a good girl kate, dont be like me. Amber take care of my sister and never fight with her. I love you girls, watch over my baby for me and let her know mommy loved her very much"
Do this for ur sis, she wanted you to finish her dreams. take care and call me later, tell small fry i miss her and i'll come see her for xmas.

She is a writer of her age, not a good writer at all as far as poems go, but wrote about what was happening to her. We have all felt similar feelings at a young age and what she wrote was not literary, but from her personal thoughts.

"My father says its just me" is a very important part of her narrative. I am a psychologist and in my opinion this diary or poem has something directly to do with her father. "He says I'm psycho". Why would she think her father said that? There is more that she said her father said. "I just wish it just went away". What would make a young girl say that?

Can you not tell what happened to your sister? Are you so jaded by your blindness what happened to her? It is clear that your sister was molested and she did not know how to deal with it. You either did not know about it or did not act upon it. This case is so very clear that even a novice investigator would find the same conclusion.

Your sister was both a good writer and one who did commit suicide or was murdered. She did that because she was a victim. I feel sad for you and you family. In any other case I would call this murder because she didn't have to die, only to be loved in a proper manner and was a person who had a lot to offer to you, your family and the world. I am so sorry for your loss.

I wish to say more, but I shake my head and no words come forth. I am so very sorry and my tears will meld with yours.

Most Sincerely,

Jon

It has good rhyming techniques and a good poem format, but I wouldn't publish it. Sounds very dark and depressive (I don't know if that's even a word, but anyway,) so maybe it was just written out of depression. Sorry about your sister. It's a shame that this is how she saw the world before she left.

I have won awards for poetry...I dont' write happy poems, mostly ones about letting go, breaking up and moving on.. She kind of just sounds depressed. There is no continuous rhyme pattern. I especially don't like the lines "then i get a headache. and then i start to cry"... They could be confusing for someone that has never felt depressed before.

I am so, so sorry about your loss..

i think that a poem comes from deep inseide, no matter if a writes was a bad writer or a good one, the poem will always be emotional if that is the way the writer feels.

i like it the poem its sad but as far as publishing do you think that is something that she wanted?or is it something private?those things to be considered.i think it is a good poem to publish but for respect towards her i think what i said should be considered.
