Bathe when you wake up to help reduce the egg contamination.
Change and wash your underwear each day. Frequent changing of night clothes are recommended.
Change underwear, night clothes, and sheets after each treatment. Because the eggs are sensitive to sunlight, open blinds or curtains in bedrooms during the day.
Personal hygiene should include washing hands after going to the toilet, before eating and after changing diapers.
Trim fingernails short.
Discourage nail-biting and scratching bare anal areas. These practices help reduce the risk of continuous self reinfection.
Cleaning and vacuuming the entire house or washing sheets every day are probably not necessary or effective. Screening for pinworm infection in schools or institutions is rarely recommended. Children may return to day care after the first treatment dose, after bathing, and after trimming and scrubbing nails.

All the best....

wash your sheets, and bedding every week, dont let your pets sleep in your bed. Get your pets to take medication as well. There is homeopathy for it called Cina. There is also a herb for it called White Oak Bark. Overall, I would go to your Doctor. But, you can actually buy a medication at the pharmacy for pinworm without a perscription, im just not sure what its called, my doctor wrote it down for me but I lost the slip. If you go in there they can help you.

You can get an over the counter medicine for worms such as mebendazole, levamisole or albendazole. Also, to prevent reinfection, do not scratch. Keep your nails short and clean. Wash your hands frequently. If you cannot avoid scratching while you sleep, wear mittens. Good luck!

You've had pin worms now, for a year and a half? and, you think they're common "in children"

Hears a tip for you Honey: pin worms are not common in children, only children that live on the streets maybe, or in depraved conditions that have no sewer or fresh water supply and, have no bath facilities, get the picture?

If you have pin worms I would hurry to a doctor and get them taken care of and fast. They can cause serious side affects and secondary conditions.
Do you know pin worms can go to the brain, can go to the eye and blind you, these are secondary conditions.
Anytime you think this is normal you'd better see your doctor.

all I know is the pills to take. If you have kids take some of your BM to the Dr and tell them it is your kids...he will give you the pills to take. OR do a search for the pills and see what is in the pills. Or call your Dr and tell them your kids have pin worms...they usely do not see the kids just get a sample of the BM.

Do you not realize that you are probably full of worms then? They have a medication that you can buy at the drugstore, and I suggestion buy it.

My god, go to your doctor. If not, it can become very serious and maybe even kill you in the long run. Pin worms are asexual, and they don't need partners to breed. They just split into a whole new worm. If you get enough of them, you can literally bleed to death! Go to your doctor asap!
