I am going to tell you something you may not want to hear. As a stylist for over 25 years, I have fixed many botched home color jobs. Bleach is a dangerous chemical and can wreak havoc on the hair. Please see a licensed stylist ok?

the color wont show up on your hair if it's dark or anything other than blond. iknow i've actually gone that exact color
doing bleach yourself for the first time is a 90% lose situation
youre almost guarenteed to screw up. i did two or three times before i finally figured it out.
here are my tips for preventing your screw up if you decide to go ahead: leave the roots untouched during this process. do hair from teh back to front in about half inch sections. spread the piece out as much as you can, put the bleach on probably your thumb and forefinger, and apply the bleach with a finger on each side... or find some way to make sure the bleach is thouroughly on both sides (but also that the strands of hair are spread). get it to the tips and keep doing it. it takes a while, half an hourish. move from the back and do a few parts on one side, then do the same parts on the other, and it will all come out looking even. when done, leave it in and wait a while, until it's look pretty orangy, and THEN do the roots.
DO NOT wash hair off when it looks orange has orange tints. thats the number one mistake people make.
your best bet is going to a salon to get it bleached though.. which is expensive and probably not worth it if you're just gonna go red right away
the bleach will damage your hair but not THAT much since it's your first time using it. the red wont damage your hair at all since it's temporary and natural. i recommend Special Effects dye.
this is how mine looked: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/52206210/?qo=179&q=by%3Amare-wrath&qh=sort%3Atime+-in%3Ascraps
kinda pink/orangy..... i used the wrong shade... cant remember what color... might have been "nuclear red" or "hot lava"... because i looked at a list of special effects colors and i KNOW its not any of the others --- heres the chart

i know for a fact that the blood red comes out awesome on bleached hair

You Shouldn't Need To Bleach First, Just Use One Of The Special Kits For Getting Hair (Even Dark Hair) Really Red.
Les Rouges By L'Oreal Preference Or POWER REDS By FERIA If You Have A Beauty Supply You Can Get Clairol REAL REDS And Use It With 30 Vol. Developer For Extra Bright Results. Good Luck!! Correction: If You Hair Is Black OR DYED Black You WILL Need To Remove The Dye Or Lift The Color A Bit For A Bright Red. Use A Good Lightener-JUST UNTIL YOUR HAIR IS LIGHT BROWN/RED And Condition Well. Don't Over-Lighten!!

Personally, I would try to stay away from bleaching my hair because it is awful for it. Though, if you are going to do it, I would go to a professional. I have very light blonde hair (which I achieved from just lightening it without bleaching it though I am a natural blonde) and I tried to dye it almost exactly that colour two times. The first time I used Wella Red-Red permanant colour. Though Wella is my favourite dye and usually lasts a long time in my hair, it faded to a strawberry blonde within a week. The second time I used ManicPanic Vampire Red in my light hair and it lasted for a good 5 weeks without redoing it. I would recomend ManicPanic dye because it doesn't damage your hair what-so-ever, it is cheap and found at Sally's Beauty, and it lasts longer that other permanant reds even-though it is 'semi-permanant'.
I hope I helped and good luck!!

Well sweetie, bleaching your hair out to acheive the metro-red is not what I would do. Yes bleach can be very damaging and can over process and melt your hair, which can result in breakage. What I would suggest is to go to a proffessional and ask them to use a product called Infra-Reds, it is by farouk, and is formulated to lift and deposit in very dark to black hair. Just keep in mind that red is the fastest fading color, so you will want to use a color enhancing shampoo for red hair to help keep it brighter longer. If you bleach your hair and use a red color, it will fade to a nasty looking orange color that I don't think you will be happy with, not to mention the risk of over processing your hair. You're best bet is to go to a proffessional, it will cost a little more, but not as much to fix,if you mess it up. Good luck, and be careful.

Don't you dare bleach your hair lady? Any hairdresser who would consider it is a criminal. Just take it one shade lighter at a time. Bleach won't make your hair fall off but it will damage it and when you put on the new colour - in this case red - you can stop the traffic...!!!!!!

You shouldnt be using any kind of bleach on your hair. It is damaging no matter what the volume is. Just be happy with the hair color you were born with.

if you bleach your hair dont dye it right away after, you will totally dry out your hair.i would also suggest using some good conditioner on your newly bleached hair.possibly wait a week before dying it.or a few days if possible.im sure this depends on your hair type too.also,i noticed that color fades faster when you waste money at salons....color it yourself(or have a friend do it)
