If your hair is not damaged in the first place, it should be okay to dye it again. However, if it's fragile, ask a professional.
Another possibility is to re-color it with conditioner on it. Some products have a special conditioner to do this anyway.
You won't need to leave it on for the full time the second time around, perhaps 20 minutes again. Be sure to condition it for about 20 minutes afterwards instead of the usual two minutes in the directions. I've done it and had no problems.
I've redone mine several times when I didn't like how the color turned out. My hair is fine but thick and short and it didn't hurt my hair. If you're really scared, ask a professional.

Go for it! I had this happen over this weekend, started with 2 boxes on Thurs. of a light red, turned out fireball, very ugly. I tehn got a box of dark brown to cover it (colorsilk) and put that on yesterday, turned out patchy, not enough of it. So later yesterday, before my hair was even dry, I went back and got a lighter brown and did it again. It's darker in spots than others, but definately better than the last two times, lol! So my experience= 4 boxes, 3 applications all within 48 hours. My hair is a bit dry, but I am overly conditioning and using alot of gel, and I am much happier than I would have if I waited. :) Of course hair stylists will tell you not to do it, because it does damage your hair, but it certainly CAN be done, and with no noticable damage. :)

Hi! No no no. Ideally, you should always give your hair a breather for about 6 months before re-dying it, but coz you're in a tricky situation, and it didn't settle in too well, you could re-dye it perhaps in about 2-3 weeks, not less - your hair will end up brittle, dry and weaker. I know a lot of people that regret dying their hair so often because of the outcome. I hope everything works out, for the sake of your hair, don't re-dye it tomorrow ;] xx

ok do not hear to anybody else,in case you're actually not pleased with the colour then you definately can dye in day after today. I certainly have executed it one hundred cases and my hair is in stable shape,my hair hasn't fallen out,it does not appear like straw. anybody thinks in case you dye it devoid of waiting yet another 6 weeks then something undesirable will ensue. have confidence me it won't. in case you pick to dye it a extra desirable shade I say Hell Yeah, decide for it! ;p

Since you're dying it black, you could use a more gentle semi-permanent color to help wait the suggested two week time frame between dyings.
If you think your can take it, go ahead and redye since it's just the one time. I would make sure to use a deep conditioner later in the week.

dyeing your hair too much can cause the hair to become dry and brittle. It has been known to actually cause hair to fall out.
I wouldn't recommend dyeing it for at least 3 weeks.
