I'm thinking about joining the AirForce but I don't know what to expect when at recruitment and the days after. What all happends before you join the AirForce?

Take the ASVAB, go to the recruiter, pick a job, wait in DEP for your ship date, go to basic get a nifty haircut, yelled at, and run into the ground, 8 weeks later you go to Tech school, get all pissy at ropes, a couple months later your trained up to do your job and make fun of the army

But don't go to a recruiter until you know the facts...

Know the Air Force
Talk to people in the Air Force, there are some crap jobs in the Air Force that your recruiter will try to push. Either because he simply doesn't know or he's desperate.
Figure out what specifically you want and how it fits best with a military service (ie if you want college your gonna want a less "field ready" job, if you want travel you want to be associated with careers that go places, if you want a challenge you want EOD)

Know the knowledge
The ASVAB is the test you take that determines what careers you can get. Get less than an 80 for the Air Force and your career prospects are grim, studying is key, check out some study guides at a public library. Though this really depends on how much time you have, if you have a month until you need to decide grit your teeth and just go on the knowledge you have in your cranium.

Know thy Enemy
You recruiter will seem like the friendliest guy on Earth, but here's the truth, with an overcrowded service like the Air Force he's getting desperate to get new people into jobs they don't want

Recruited
It's always better to go to the recruiter with someone you know and trust. Someone who can help you think. Ask questions; How do I get promoted/promoted faster? How long is Tech school? What are the current bases available for this job? Ask anything that you couldn't find out on your own. If he doesn't know, either he should find out or direct you where to get the answer

Good luck
