The first step is reducing the severity of your psoriasis, is DRINK LOTS OF WATER. Drink at least 2 litres a day. The second step is to IMPROVE YOUR DIET and eat lots of green leafy vegetables. This will not cure your psoriasis, but it may dramatically reduce it. You will find each doctor or dermatologist will give different advice. That is because they have probably found something that works for a variety of their patients. It is not uncommon for dermatologists to try a combination of treatments until they find one that works particularly well for you—its basically trial and error! The following foods are popular triggers (worsen psoriasis;) Coke-a-Cola, red wine, red meat, MSG, chilli, hot spices, junk foods, oily foods, berries (such as strawberries) tomato, most acidic foods and vitamin-c. People with poor diets will likely have much worse psoriasis.

So cutting back on the consumption of diet coke will not completely eradicate your skin problem but will certainly help the severity and frequency of outbreaks.

It has been proven that a good diet (less of the foods mentioned above,) lots of water and lots of vegetables, a good multi vitamin tablet and also zinc tablets daily can help reduce psoriasis. It is not a recognised treatment, nor a cure. Any results from a diet are probably due to increased general health, and the REMOVAL of unhealthy foods - not the inclusion of magic foods. Acidic foods in particular have been proven to worsen psoriasis, so simply eliminating these from your existing diet will improve your psoriasis as much as any "wonder diet" could.

I have suffered from pustular psoriasis for years and I drink as much diet pepsi as you do and I am positive it has nothing to do with your getting psorasis. How do I know this, because I have been in a remission of sorts for about 5 years after suffering for 17 straight years and during the last 5 years I have consumed more diet pepsi than ever before. It may not be one of the healthiest choices we could make by some peoples standards but there are a lot of worse choices out there. It really bothers me when people try to pin the blame for psoriasis on something that we consciously do instead of understanding the disease and knowing that psoriasis sufferers would walk through fire if we thought it would cure it.

Psoriasis is thought to be a genetic disease that is autoimmune and can be very difficult to control. There are various treatments available and can be quite disheartening when you don't get immediate results. You might not get immediate results so don't expect a miracle and if it happens then it is really great. When I was first starting to break out with it I would have it for a few months and then it would go away all by itself. Then 6 months later it would come back. Each time it came back it laster for longer periods of time until it wouldn't go away at all. Don't feel self conscious about it, it is just a skin condition and not contagious so don't get into the habit of hiding it and letting it live your life.

Good luck to you

I was diagnosed with psoriasis at age 14 and now I am 36 years old. You can say that I have tried just about every medicine both approved by FDA and trial without much success. Examples include Enbrel, Humira, oral meds, creams, oils, salts, coal tar, etc and the list is much more extensive that I can't even remember all of the names. But recently after someone shared this video https://tr.im/Curespsoriasis2015famq everything has changed. My psoriasis completely cleared by putting these changes in place. I only wish I'd taken photos of before and after because it truly has been miraculous. I am getting married in Oct, 2015 and I am wearing a strapless gown that also shows my back and I am confident (not like before) that my skin will be soft and pretty vs red and flakey.

after over 50 years of dealing with the bit P I can say this--sun helps the best. Use a cortisone ointment and learn to live with it. You will have times when it drives you crazy and others when there is hardly a spot. Treatments at the specialized clinics use the same junk now that they did in the early 60's. It has to do with the way your body processes amino acids. Your scalp will be a preferred place for it, elbows, knees, insides of ankles, eyebrows under your eyes and across the bridge of your nose, belt line. Remember that almost one in 50 people have it and there are about 14 types there is no cure but alcohol and fatty foods will make it worse. Your diet sodas should have no affect on it. Poultry should be your meat of choice. It will be worse in the winter and sun exposure in the summer clears much of it up. Everyone that has not walked in the shoes will give you words of wisdom and causes. Cortisone injections are not authorized for psoriasis but they work for about 6 months to make it go away. I learned that one from arthritis outbreaks in my 20's. They would give a shot and my P would go away. Hope this helps--attitude also helps, I was in all school activities and a cheerleader and had it all over my face etc. Hope this gives you a bit of help.

Cure psoriasis starting today - even if your doctor or dermatologist says "it's impossible!"
I've just followed a guide called psoriasis free for life that completely cured me of this debilitating and embarrassing disease in less than a month!
Remember, this will not only treat the symptoms that you do see:
the red, inflamed itchy skin.
The silvery scales that seem to erupt for no reason.
The burning or bleeding that occurs around your joints.
The cracking, oozing and painful patches on your skin.
But it also treats the underlying cause of psoriasis - the part you don't see - the actual immune system deficiency that causes these itchy patches to appear and scale over.
For more information, check here : http://Psoriasis.naturallysaver.com .
You can definitely get back your life, your confidence and your self esteem!
