It would most likely be more expensive to choose general, because putting you under involves more equipment and is more risky than if you just have local anestesia. The amount of time to recovery is less, and everything would generally go faster with the local.

To be honest if your like me I have to get sedation to get anything done but general between local ... local is cheaper but hey I figure I gotta use my teeth while I live right? I found that there is discounts I can use after my dental plan to offset my costs (I love my plan even my being putting under is free)
Do your research first pls and any questions email me and I can direct you to where I have mine at (4k oral surg and insure covs 1.5k and disc is taking most of it) Lukia_Christine@yahoo.com

What do you mean by local?...........if you mean specialist...........You have to be refered to.But for your oral care ,you need to see a general dentist. If you need a Root canal and it is complicated, then you get refered to endodantist. If you have gum disease, you get refered to periodantist. If you have a difficult extraction you get refered to surgeon. And so on.I hope this is what you were asking.
