If you are refering to Making wine at home, honestly it is too much trouble and too expensive. For you to Make wine at home, you will need a good source of grape (grocery store grapes will not do), good barrels, temperature controlled, then ferment at least 6-9 months and possibly more. It's not worth it.

If you mean by opening wine and serving wine, here's a few general rules.
* serve wine at about 70 degree temperature. People tend to serve red too hot and white too cold. White should be in the upper 60's, while red should be in low 70's. When we refer to "room temperature", it is European room temperature, not US temperature;
* for red wine, open ahead of time; if you have a decanter (a container to pour your red wine in), do so;
* serve your wine in appropriate glassware - large glasses for red wines, smaller for white; please do not serve in plastic or styrofoam cups;
* pour glass only about 1/3 full; do not ever pour over 1/2 full, since people will swirl wine to let it breath - too full of a glass causes spills;
* serve wine with something to eat, not only to help people not to get drunk but also help cleanse the palate; cheese, crackers, chocolate, finger foods are all good;
* also serve wine with plenty of bottled waters, since wine dehydrate people; lots of water would help prevent hangover;
* stop serving wine to someone who is drunk; if the drunk person leave your house, drive home but get into a car accident on the way home, you may be legally liable for the accident; check on all of your guests before sending them home

Find corkscrew. Pop cork. Let RED wine breathe (to reduce tannin flavor). Pour into glass. Don't touch bottle lip to glass rim. Drink.

If you want a better answer, I'd suggest adding details. ;)
