Sally Hansen 4-in-1 seemed to make my nails more healthy but it would all fall off after a day. Usually nail polish just dries the nails and makes them more brittle. Try keeping them out of water, wear gloves to wash dishes and rub vaseline on them before you shower.

Nails usually break because they are dry.

The best nails ever that I had:

I soap related ezema. So I started washing my dishes using latex gloves. I would slather my hands with hand lotion.... I used the hotest water from the hot water tank. After a few weeks, my nails started getting better and not breaking.... To help with the moisture in the gloves, I would shake in a bit of baby powder.

I use T.I.P.S. purchased from QVC. It did not work overnight, but then again my nails have been damaged for years. I've been using it for a few months now and this is the longest my nails have ever been!

I know several of my friends swear by the prenatal multi-vitamins. Also, I agree with the person who suggested know gelatin.

Take vitamin E.

Keep your nails painted.

Make sure you keep a file and clippers with you at all times so when you get a snag you can fix it before it destroys the whole nail.

Keep using products that claim to strenghthen your nails, esp. nail polish remover.

Use non-acetone based nail polish remover, it is harder to remove the polish, but it is easier on your nails
