I have not been searching for this but have stumbled upon the distinct simularities of ancient mythology and religion to be the same stories retold throughout the ages with only minor differences in regional origin befitting to the facts. Could there be only one Religion? Could there be only losses in translation by way of mouth and interpretation? I am convinced that as in our world today stories are manipulated to fit the situation at hand and are more over politically motivated and lose the truth to benifit the one reciting and for which reason they recite it.

Yes, there can be only one religion, but not one DEFINITE or TRUE religion.

Mithraism > Judaism > Christianity > etc and so forth.

Almost every religion to date compares closely to another one before it.

I have came to the same conclusions you just described for myself, so I know how it is. And you're right, religion is based upon where you were brought up. I was born Christian, then I went searching for more answers because I felt like I wasn't getting the ones I was looking for through the Bible.

I am now an Agnostic Pagan, or just simply "Spiritual".
I do not disagree with anyone else's path, but I do have problems with a select few.

Check out the link I have provided for you.
Blessed Be.

Due to the similarities of most God-based religions and even the 'pagan' religions of ancient Greece, one can come to this conclusion very easily.

Once you factor in humanity's primitive urges, such as safety in numbers and the need to retain people in tribes, a more logical truth appears, one that says God-based religions have been instilled with 'tools' over the centuries to help increase and sustain their numbers.

there is not only one religon because people have come up with pagan gods but even the things that their pagan gods did are very similiar to the things that the one true God did such as the great flood. there are other religons because there is sin in the world but that could have been a bit of the cause. there's really just no way to know for sure.

Religions are made by man...not by God. It is the personal relationship with Him that matters...

Religion needs to be secondary to that relationship.

People tell the story but change it because they forget how to tell it right

just as we evolved from uni-cellular organisms, I believe that our ultimate 'religion' started from one also, but in an evolutionary sense, of course.

All the truth you need is in the BIBLE. Read it from cover to cover and you will find truth.

That is why I go to the Bible for answers, not to people.
