Now I'm not trying to be mean, or anything and respect everyone's right to hold his or her personal beliefs. But it seems to me as an athiest you would not have a religion and/or spirituality and therefore why would you even bother hanging out in that section? Do you really think you are going to convince a believer to give up their deep seated beliefs or are you there just to pick a fight. Again, I don't want to be mean, I just want to know. Thanks.

Because the point of the section is to discuss religion and spirituality, not practice it. Athiests simply don't believe in a deity; that doesn't mean they don't have any interest in discussing the topic. I don't believe in dwarves or elves, but The Lord of the Rings is one of my favorite books and I am up for a discussion about it any time. I feel almost the same way about the Bible.

EDIT: Also, in my particular case, I'm looking for women who have proven themselves to be suggestionable.

Because, of the total rampant display of narrowmindedness, zealotry, shallowness, ignorance and stupidity, not to mention (much) the moral and spirtiual bankruptcy of most of the "xtian" morons that post here. We want you to know that you don't have a monopoly, a beach head, or even a foothold in spirituality anymore! If you want to be respected, then show other ppl respect for what they believe or don't believe!

Since silence usually means acceptance, atheists and those of other faiths must reply to reign in the xtian posters here to delay the coming Greater Depression, and another Black Age of xtian superstition, theocracy, and misery one week at a time. Y'all learned this crap somewhere, and that source of ignorance has to - must be - challenged...

POOF! There goes 10 more brownie pts....

One reason is is the only place where people like you address questions directly to atheists.

It is also the place where believers recite many misconceptions about atheists which need to be corrected.

And most atheists have probably spent more time thinking critically about religion and spirituality than most people so we have a lot to say about it.

LOL -same reason you hang out in here - cause you hope you're going to find some poor lost soul without a clue and convince them your way is best.

They hang out here because they choose to hang out here.

I thought you hated this place and wanted it banned or removed - if so, why or why do you keep posting to it????

How do you know I'm not a spiritual person. You can believe in spirtual things without believing in a deity.

to make sure other people aren't being ignorant and judgemental about atheism and to see others views on religion. Beliefs can change.

There are no athiests here. There are no athiests anywhere. Athiests do not exist. Find a dictionary and look up the word "athiest."

Good luck.

I would suggest that perhaps they enjoy the challenge of the debate. I doubt if most mean any harm by what they say...they just don't take believers seriously because they can't comprehend it.

You don't have to believe in a god to find religion interesting and enjoy religious debate.

See, that is why. Your ignorant confusion between belief and evidence.
