I have never gotten annoyed by people on cell phones either. It's good to have your phone with you at all times to stay connected. The only issue I might have is if they are being obnoxious, like constantly laughing or screaming into the phone because it is a phone and it does kind of give off that "I'm f'ing crazy don't pay attention to me" vibe. But other then that, talk wherever you want :)

The ppl that get annoyed are ppl like me who remember when ppl had "common courtesy". If I pay good money to go see a movie, I want to hear the movie, not some moron talking about nonsense. If you must take a call, go out to the lobby and talk.
I am also a cashier in a card store and when someone comes up to check out and they are on their cell phone, it is very insulting. It's as if I am not worth their time or attention. I have to tell the the price 3 or 4 times because they are too busy talking. Then, they just throw the money on the counter because they only have one hand to conduct the transaction. They never say thank you, or acknowledge when I say it to them. I have started pushing their items to the side and saying "let me know when you are ready to check out". Yay for me!
Society has become so rude and insensitive. No one cares if they are offending anyone by their behavior. It is a sad state of affairs.

It doesn't bother me if people talk on cell phones in public places. Sometimes it confuses me, like in the grocery store, someone was talking wearing an earphone and I thought she was talking to me and I felt embarrassed when I answered her and she looked at me like I was "crazy".
Once in a restaurant there was a woman and her teen aged daughter having breakfast together and the mother stayed on the cell phone the whole time. The daughter looked sad and I felt sorry for her.
I turn off my cell phone when I am having a conversation with another person or in church, in my doctor's office, and places like that.
But, what other people do doesn't bother me much other than the examples I gave.
Great question!!!

I came out of work on Friday and was walking along to my car. I heard three voices behind me, I thought someone was calling my name. I turned around, there were three women, all on their cellphones. When I'm in a grocery store, there's someone on their cell phone in the canned vegetable aisle, asking should we get Green Giant or Del Monte. Everywhere I look, it's people on their cells phones. In the elevator, at the dry cleaners, at the car wash, everywhere. I am so very sick of having to listen to other people's conversations.

No they're kids, its what they do. I have a problem with parents that talk to their kids like they're trash. I actually heard a woman tell her kid she hated him and to stop being so annoying. I almost punched her out. There is a right way to deal with those situations.

Because its annoying- I don't care about their sex life last night and I don't want to hear about it, same goes for couples arguing on the phone...also, people on cell phones tend to talk overly loud for some reason and it sounds like they are shouting.

It's rude.. I'm a cashier & It's the worst when people are on their cell phones the whole time they are checking out. I feel I deserve a little more respect than that. Human to Human..

Public places don't bother me..It's the talking and driving..or dialing and driving..and holding me back because they can't turn and dial at the same time. if you want to talk while in the car..get hands free or pull over.

because often when I'm in a open public place I'm with my children or one of the children I care for. My teenagers have heard it all, so I'm not so concerned about what they hear, but tell me, does a toddler realy need to hear all about some bint's sexual activities of the evening before in great detail as we pass by? I know I sure as hell don't.
Keep your bedamned intimate details to yourself, or tell your friends when other people don't have to hear.

I don't get annoyed, I pity them that they don't believe in their own existence unless they are constantly "connected".
