Like Kimm W said, if you were punched in- you'll get paid for the hours. If you *weren't*, make sure to talk to your HR rep asap. Usually they're pretty cool about it.

Also, O/T *does* depend on the state. So you might get an extra bump or just sent home two hours early (later in the week).

Either way, be sure to note who asked you to stay and exactly what they said. Sometimes the HR reps don't catch the O/T until later in the week and want to know what's going on.

If by extra pay you mean over time pay then that depends on the state in which you live. For example Texas goes by a weekly system. You can work 10 hours a day so long as your total weekly hours don't pass 40 hours. In Indiana if your daily hours goes over 8 then you get overtime.

If you were working past your normal hours, then yes, they're required to pay you for it.

Overtime for most states is not required to be paid except for hours over 40 in a week, where it's required by federal law. A few states require overtime pay after 8 hours in a day.

They must pay you if you were punched in, but don't let them pull the crap that some other retailers pull, by making you clock out at your scheduled time, then "finding things" that you need to do before you leave.

Were you punched in? As long as you were punched in, you will be getting paid.
