The Bible is not very accurate the following verses prove them.
According to the Bible, Book of Genesis,
chapter 1, verses 11-13,
Vegetation was created on the third day along with seed-bearing grasses, plants and trees; and further on as per verses 14-19, the sun was created on the fourth day. How is it scientifically possible for the vegetation to have appeared without the presence of the sun, as it has been stated in the Bible?
It also says light is created on the first day where as the source of light 'The Sun' is created on the fourth day. How is this scientifically possible?
The Bible is not Scientifically accurate. It has been changed several times.
The Bible also says
According to Lev 11:20-21: "All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you." Fowl do not go upon all four. There has not been any fossils of winged creatures found that has four legs. So therefore, it is not very accurate in describing Biology. There are several other errors in the Bible I do not wish to discuss them.

Good question. My reply is this. As I said to the barman at my local pub, do you really want to know or are you playing a game? There are a number of referenced works which establish clearly where the manuscripts came from and the fact that the Bible is as near to the original autographs as is possible. Will you study these? He smiled and said no. I think you should if you are being presented with the statement that this is the most important book in the world then yes you should be able to make that choice. Secondly, as regarding human beings, it reflects the world I live in with all its cruelty lies love of money and death as well as sacrifice love and repentance. Thirdly it has changed people's lives for the better. Fourthly if you buy a car or a stereo you get an instructon manual. It is pretty obvious the human mind and DNA designer would not leave us without an instruction and operating manual. Lastly I read it and it changed my life. How do I know it wasn't changed? Because there are too many stories in it where the hero is weak and if you were writing a book reflecting your God there would not be so many people in it who are just like normal people. Like who?
Cain who killed Able because he was jealous. Moses who got so mad he smashed the 10 commandments, He had an anger management problem, he killed an Egyptian. He got mad and struck the rock when he wasn;t supposed to and as a result never got to the promised land. David the best King in the history of the world, falls for a woman and has her husband sent to a battle where he was (and did) die so he could have the mans wife. Job's friends who didn't help him when he was in trouble. Peter the fisherman who walked on the water and then got scared and sank even though Jesus was only a few yards away. The same Peter three times denied he even knew Jesus. Thomas didn't believe in Jesus resurrection until he felt the wounds. Paul killed Christians when he thought he was doing God's will. NONE of these stories would be included in a book written by men trying to sell a fake religion. If you want to see fake then watch the rich televangelists with their shiny shoes and slick hair and wonderful promises - and dont forget to send them your money. That is fake my friend. Now here are some references. And if you want to learn you can. And if you don't then you and God both know!

It's all about faith.....Who can say there is a heaven or hell when you die. Do you know anyone that has been there and come back to talk about it. I haven't. I'm not an atheist. I believe in god. I do know that it is all based on belief. If you look around the world everyone worships their own god or gods. It is all faith. I believe there is an ultimate place to go when I die. I don't remember where I was before I was born and I don't know if I will know where I am when I die. We are all living this life out to see what happens. So as far as the bible being true or fake. Who knows maybe it is....you just have to have faith. - Mark

Ugh! 'Just have faith,' they say! Worthless!
The only FAITH necessary for this religion is the faith in GOD. To truly understand your own religion, you have to study the original text, which requires knowing the languages. You have to study the history. You have to study where things changed. You have to constantly be learning and bettering yourself.
These FAITH answers are absolutely NONSENSE and it makes me so angry. They don't even understand as Christians. Their own Bible tells them to seek proof in things, but I guess they forgot about that. You can't call yourself a Christian if you don't make any effort to understand it. If you find contradictions, there is no amount of faith that can get you past that. You are just ignorant if you accept contradictions.
The truth is, it HAS been changed, but more importantly, the churches are not even teaching Biblical "truth" anymore. They're corrupted by culture and internal church politics, and even by the government. When people already have these ideas in their head, their reading of the Bible is OBVIOUSLY going to be tainted. But they don't care. They just allow the brainwashing.
Is this true for everyone? No, of course not. But UNDENIABLY the majority. How many Christians do you really think study all this stuff, including the original texts? Exactly.
Edit: THIS IS NOT LIKE ANY OTHER DOCUMENT (I.E. THE CONSTITUTION). This is about YOUR potential ETERNAL LIFE! Why do you dismiss something this important to you as the same as any other piece of literature!?

The answers you've gotten so far have been, in my opinion, a bit curt. The one answer, "It's faith!" is the right answer, but there is so much more to it than that. There is much to know about faith. Where does it come from, how can you get it or increase it, etc. Drawing from my own experience, I can say that faith was born in me when I asked Jesus to forgive me for my sins and to come into my heart. That simple step was the first step in a journey of over 36 years of helping people to know and understand better the things of the Kingdom of God. Through my own personal research I have determined for myself that the King James version of the Bible is the best and most faithful translation. I have complete faith that it is "The Word Of God" the way He wanted it to be presented to mankind. After all, if He is God, He knows how to protect His own word. Yes, there are many different translations and not all agree with one another. This, I believe, is one of the devices of the devil to throw doubt about the bible. Here is what the bible says about itself: 2Pe 1:21 "For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." Bottom line, it all comes down to faith. If you don't have it, ask for it. Actually reading the bible will help increase your faith also. Romans 10:17 "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." I hope this helped.

They want it to be true, and for Christians wishing is part of their philosophy of self-destruction. They don't know anything about this real world and that's the way they want to keep it, so they go through life pretending, imagining, begging and hoping, instead of learning, growing, facing and overcoming.
Saying that book is anything more than a collection of fictional tales is nothing but wishful thinking. There's no historical basis, and the entire thing presents an incomplete poor philosophy. You can't base your life on that mess, unless confusion, blanking out your mind, is your goal.
Religion is one thing and one thing only: a defense mechanism against facing one's personal issues. And all defense mechanisms are anti-thought, anti-reason, and self-destructive. People sure like alcohol, so maybe there is some basic human need for such things, to escape reality, but I think I can do better.

The 66 books of the Bible, written by 40 different men, inspired by God, over a period of 2,000 years has an amazing unity and the same message thru out----God's redemption of man thru His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Bible is filled with fulfilled prophecies. Hundreds have been fulfilled. There is no other Book like it.
The Bible is historically accurate.
The Bible is scientifically accurate----many principles of science were recorded in the Bible long before scientists confirmed them experimentally.
There are many testimonies of changed lives of those who have believed God's Word.
The Bible cannot be disproven.
It does take faith to believe God's word, but it isn't blind faith.
It is very evidential.

How do you know the constitution is true instead of fake? You rely on the truthfulness and honesty of each generation of its keepers. Someday the constituion may disintegrate from age like all of the original biblical manuscripts did. How will future generations know the truth and authenticity of the replicas that will be made of the constitution? By faith.
