Apart from the 'religious/satanic ' sacrifice of animals, it means GIVING UP something you want - or want to do, in order to HELP somebody else. In short, it can be about growing up and NOT being SELFISH>>>>> And as you grow up, you will hopefully understand that OTHER PEOPLE have made sacrifices for YOU. That means they care for you and wish you well, etc, etc, Good Luck. Be yourself.

A sacrifice is when you give up something you value for the good of someone else. Many people find it easier to give money, which they have plenty of, to help people, but are unwilling to give up their time to help others. Every Wednesday a group of us goes to feed about 150 homeless people in a park. I give up my time, sacrifice it, to help them. I also am not rich and I sacrifice buying something I want to buy food for them. My wife does the same. I witness it myself.
Sacrifice is when a soldier jumps on a grenade to save his friends. It is when you do what your spouse wants instead of what you want. It is when you go hungry and give your children the last of the food,
In religion it is a ritual where something of value is burned or killed to worship a god.

Sacrifice to me for example if my children needed something and I didn't have it I would give up my most precious er loom and sell it just as long as it was important and not on a shopping spree,,, or if there was no food I would honestly go hungry for my loved ones and not tell them so they wouldn't feel bad.... while they were eating....but the number 1. Sacrifice was when God gave his only begotten son for the world's sin..

Sacrifice means to give up something you hold dear for a person or cause.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sacrifice
I have not knowingly sacrificed something; although if I canmake anoher happy I will try to. Perhaps in this way we all sacrifice a little of our selves or time, to make anothers life more meaningful?

It is spelled "sacrifice"
Meaning to give something dear to you, perhaps even your own life to someone who needs it, or to save someone that way.
Life is non stop sacrifice, especially it refers to good, emphatic people.
