I've been rebuilding a 68 hard top mustang and when I put in the new gages the fuel gauge started operating backwards reads a half a tank when empty. Also my temperature gauge stops at half way even though I am pretty sure that the engine has gotten hotter than that. Any help will be much appreciated.

The gas could be a problem with the float. As for the temp, you got me on that one. Is it correctly wired.
go to mustang in a google search and see if there is a chat room or resource group.

my guess on the fuel gauge is the sender is miss wired. The temp gauge could also be wired wrong or the unit could need replaced.
