I know that my stereo comes with the factory security feature, and I want to know that when I put in my new deck, I won't have any trouble getting it to work right. I don't know what to do to bypass it myself because I want to do the install myself. Any advice?

the security is within the factory stereo. Once it is removed, you will not have a problem with the aftermarket stereo.

There are a few things you might want to know about this vehicle...
If you have 4x10 speakers in the celing in the back, when you install an aftermarket radio, the rear door speakers will not work. You will have to rewire them to the radio. I never tracked down why they don't work, it was faster to run new wires.
Here is a link to a website that will tell you the mounting kit and wiring adapter you will need.
DO NOT CUT THE FACTORY WIRING HARNESS.

As cplkittle said above, GM Theftlock is a security system for the factory radio only. If it's active (it's turned off by default) it will only become a problem when you re-install the factory radio back into the truck later.

The reason the rear door speakers don't work with after-market decks in some of the Tahoes is that they're powered by their own factory amplifier. They'll work if you activate the factory amplifier using the remote turn-on output in the new head unit. That means connecting the new deck's blue/white wire to the factory amp activation wire in the stock radio plug; it's usually a pink wire, and matches up to the blue power antenna wire in the adapter harness.
