There is no "best brand" out there as you should be listening to your ears rather than others and opinions thereof. Only your ears will tell you what sounds good for you.
And for the comment about Bose being the best, I doubt it. Bose is a joke and make bass heavy systems and trick you into thinking it's a great brand. Bose is overrated with excellent marketing and brainwashing.
If you want to get into the best OEM systems, that will be Mark Levinson, Nakamichi, and JBL.
For aftermarket, I personally like Eclipse, Alpine, JL Audio, Boston Acoustics, and Rockford Fosgate. But this is my opinion and what my ears like.
Demo some equipment and find out.

there is no "best brand". it's all opinionated, and they all have their strengths. some in SQ, some in SPL, etc. depends what you're looking for really.
