It is called frog gigging in the south. It is really fun. But, you should only do it if you intend to eat what you kill.

We don't do that in the North anymore. Frogs serve a useful purpose in nature and therefore should not be hunted. We also don't have rodeo's in the North anymore. Circuses are the next target.

YES, I use a piece of red flannel cloth on the end of a fishing hook, and dangle it in front of them when their sitting along the bank*... They jump for it as if it was a insect*... Gets them every time*...
