Unfortunately the only thing you can do is learn to not do it again. Non refundable means just that. I know it sucks. The same thing (same amount) happened to me a few years ago.

Be wiser, and more careful in the future. Non-refundable is exactly that. It means that you won't get your money back. You can get a lawyer and fight it, but the lawyer will run you more that the amount you lost. Your only hope, might be if you are under the age of 18. Then, this is a contract with a minor, and it may be deemed not legal. Other than that, I don't know. Chances are you just lost the money.

like you said you did sign a contract, what the seller will say is you knocked them out of a sell and this fee covers that ,and more than likely they will get to keep the deposit, they write that up that way to protect against that, but you may have lost it,you can talk to them and see about getting it back ,but they may not refund it to you,by law they don't have to ,but some places will give it back,i hope you get it back, and if you do be careful the next time you sign anything, know what your signing before you sign it,good luck on it hope this helps.

Next time, look at the records BEFORE signing, and BEFORE paying ANYTHING. Lesson learned?
