I saw that.
Don't let an educated professor tell you what to think but instead listen to an uneducated pastor.
LMAO!!!!
Let's see, Harvard professor or Oral Roberts pastor?
Duhhh!

Professors? Where did that come from. What about the whole all the scientists critically analyzing data thing. I think its at least 99% of biologists agree with evolution. Wow, so lets see, science is for evolution, and a book written thousands of years ago is for creationism........I'm gonna think for myself and go with evolution.
Also, I've studied it and it makes a lot more sense than anything else I've heard.
Also, I hope people realize that I.Q. isn't an accurate measure of intelligence. Just saying. I mean, you can be closed minded and have a high I.Q. But of course making your own choice to believe in something other than the masses believes in certainly doesn't show a lower intelligence (not being sarcastic), but an stating a number doesn't really prove anything.

Yup, authentic interior the money. the subject with maximum christians today, say Westboro Baptist Church is they are conceited and pretentious to what they have faith in that they think approximately each and every thing superfluous that they are transforming into impolite, stressful, that they do no longer appreciate loose speech, and could motel to logical fallacies an quote mining. particular you're able to have faith in God and be a Christian, yet then in case you do no longer prefer to be considered negatively, be great inspite of each and every thing... what could Jesus have accomplished? could we atheists chosen to no longer save on with in his foot step, he will appreciate our selection, and nevertheless say "god bless" you. If christians all started residing like one, then the international could have been a extra effective place, and christianity isn't considered that undesirable. yet then there is likewise the case of Islam, and that they are gonna have a opposed take-over as quickly as christianity is a softie... To different answerers, i've got faith what's the asker speaking approximately is performing like Jesus Christ.

Well from my experience books are more reliable than modern professors. I am in college and I find myself trying not to tell my teacher he is wrong, like my history teacher saying the Quakers wanted a secular government, or my philosophy teacher saying the Founding Fathers were Unitarians, which goes-hand-in-hand with Deism. He is mostly write on the Unitarian part but the Unitarians and Deists do NOT go hand in hand.

No, indeed it is NOT hyprocritical for a Christian to advise you to think for yourself.
Many people in and outside of Christianity are mislead, misguided or simply wrong.
I do not believe everything I am told, whether is about the Bible or not. More times than can be counted, I have heard people say that the Bible says " spare the rod, spoil the child". This IS NOT in the Bible, although it does have a lot to say about child rearing. It was actually Mark Twain who coined that phrase.
The Bible also has much to say about false prophets, sheep in wolves clothing and misleading His flock. Jesus, Himself, asked His disciples, "whom do YOU say I am?"
In my humble opinion, teaching my children to think for themselves is one of the three greatest things I have done for them..........

I think it's an accurate statement for both sides. Christians need to do research on why they believe in Christianity.
Atheists on the other hand are hypocritical to tell Christians that all they do is regurgitate things they hear from pastors, when atheists all quote talkorigins.net and Richard Dawkins.

I believe that we should all think for our selves, it does not matter if it is a pastor or a professor.
we are all intelligent beings, and to take someone else's opinion of what we should believe or think,is what most atheist call dogma.
why is it o k for us to believe what someone else is taught, for most teacher are teaching what they are taught. not what they have come to believe, or know.
and most Pastors are not uneducated.
