Why not?
I didn’t realise there were rules written anywhere that said what True Believers⢠and Unbelievers were allowed to say.
Have y’all got a rule book what says real clearishly what I can say when I curse or cuss or just wanna p*ss y’all off?
Are you saying that free speech isn’t?
I often say Jesus H F*cking Christ, F*cking Jesus, Oh my F*cking God, and a few others.
But to me they're just words to go with whatever I'm thinking, saying or doing.
I don't attach a blasphemy tag to it cos you'd have to BELIEVE in the existence of Invisible Sky Critters to do that ... and I definitely don’t.
I’m not in need of a security blanket.
[edit] WB73 mentioned 'f*ck me' which I use sometimes but I'm more like likely to say 'f*uck me dead'; I can assure you I'm not calling for any Invisible Sky Monster to swoop down and do so. It's just an expression that doesn't need to make sense. Lighten up.
[another edit] Immortal Beloved said: Perhaps your personal river of intellect will not allow you to go beyond the shallow waters though.
Oh my GOD! I LOVE it. It's going into my 'Remember this one' file.
I may even use it and forget to attribute it to you - don't worry, everyone will know I couldn't come up with a sentence so subtle.

It's popular expression. You might not like that explaination because it's not the "deep down inside, we all really believe in your God" answer that you're trying to get. But the truth is, you just don't hear "Wind Spirit damn it!" when someone gets cut off in traffic. "Thor bless you," when someone sneezes. "Good Apollo," when the power bill comes in.
See how stupid all of that sounds? There's no ring to it at all.
Besides, if exclaimations were enough to admit faith, we'd never have expressions such as "Holy cow," which came about to make fun of Hinduism.
[Edit] I see. So when something bad happens, Atheists want God to have mercy on them, eh? So what exactly does it mean when, instead of "Oh, my God," they say, "F**k me?" Do you really think they want sex when they're facing down disaster?

You don't have to believe in god to say "Oh My God!". I'm an atheist myself and i use that phrase all the time! Everyone at least says that more than once in their lifetime! "Oh my god!" is just a phrase to emphasize how shock you are, how scared you are, etc. It doesn't nessecarily relate to god. It's just like saying "Oh My Goodness!" but in a short term, without any certain belief in god. I hope you understand what I mean. :)

Back in my Christian days I did not use that expression as I considered it blasphemy.
Nowadays, it is rather common among my dialogue.
Just an expression, same as using "Jesus" as a curse word.
They don't sound as bad as the typical four letter words and we all need a meaningless expression to blurt out from time to time. Yes dear, to me they are utterly meaningless.
I agree with the others, your question is not very deep. Perhaps your personal river of intellect will not allow you to go beyond the shallow waters though.

It has nothing to do with a belief. It's just a phrase. Have you ever said "Holy cow"? If you have, it doesn't make you Hindu.

Holy cow!
Does that make me a Hindu?
The sad part is, I think this is probably your best reason for your belief in God.
EDIT: your question isn't very deep.

To an atheist, God does not exist, so it would be perfectly acceptable for them to use his name as a curse word, as so many in today's society do.
