my dad tells me that he thinks I'm bipolar...

im a teen, & never in my life do i recall having a manic episode, my brother never had a manic episode until he was in his early 20s, it was then he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder

i've been depressed since i was age 9 til age 14, those are the times when there was death and change in my family
i attempted suicide at age 13, i was hospitalized
although i'm naturally shy, at age 9-13 i barely said 10 words a day in class, i literally felt MUTE and dead inside...people would make fun becuz i was so QUIET
i lost so many friends because i keep keepin to myself and am very avoidant, i literally am a loner now...
when i was 9 i remember going to a funeral and i didnt want to get out of the car, my dad trying to pull me out, i was screaming at the top of my lungs which was weird since there was these 'guests' close by usually i'd be ashamed and be ''a good girl''
i still have suicidal thoughts..

DO U THINK IM BIPOLAR?

Dude, this is not the place to discuss if you're or not bipolar, go to a specialist ASAP, why? Because of your mental health, the specialist will help you figure out if you have a problem and how to solve it.

It makes me sad that your dad says you might be bipolar, how irresponsible!!

Only a psychiatrist can tell you that -you do sound like it though. It used to be called manic depressive.Do you know what a manic episode is?It can be a short period where you feel almost high or disconnected from your self.Like your not even there.OR it can be a high that feels good for a time but you have nothing to be happy about.Get your dad to have you diagnosed there are so many medications out there now one will change your life and you will feel normal-- what ever that is.

You may be bipolar but it's not up to me or your father to say. You need to discuss this with your psychiatrist. I hope with your history you are seeing a psychiatrist and a counselor regularly. The definition for bipolar requires that you have at least one manic episode or several hypomanic ones. However, some people, like my mother and I, don't experience mania until after years of depression. Your mental health professionals should be aware of your family history so they can watch for signs.

it relatively is in all possibility only teenage temper swings and hormones. Bipolar is plenty greater severe than that, lots of the time the indications final from weeks to months, in spite of if speedy cycling is undemanding in under 18s. in spite of if this grow to be extremely speedy cycling those happy classes would be plenty greater severe. in case you probably did have it you would be a speedy cycler, which isn't quite undemanding, so take it sort a speedy cycler like myself... I even have blended bipolar and that i speedy cycle plenty, greater effective than maximum bipolar human beings do. the medicine has stopped the episodes lasting longer yet while i flow manic it does not final very long in any respect, in spite of if it relatively is amazingly severe interior the experience that, as an occasion, i'm going to break somebody, which incorporate instructors with the aid of status up in school, be rather frantic and uncontrollably exited shifting everywhere asserting how happy i'm speaking very very without postpone, human beings have pronounced i glance 'frightening', then in under a 2d i should be shouting, swearing, punching and throwing stuff and that i will have not have been given any administration over what i'm doing. the 1st undesirable one I had steadily geared up up interior the process the day after 4 months of medical melancholy (it grow to be the antidepressants that set it off), at last I had approximately 0.5 an hour - hour of severe and severe excitement with in that a panic attack and a pair fits of rage. I had to be despatched abode from college and if it lasted from now on i'd have been hospitalised. it relatively is unusual for bi polars to have episodes that short, or perhaps that grow to be no longer complete blown mania. that's the reason i do no longer think of you have it. Everybodys temper fluctuates during the day, only those with bipolar those moods are very severe, so quite of been ticked off you would be having a greater healthful of rage, quite of being happy, in case you have been like me, you will announce it to anybody, everywhere at every time, no count how beside the point it relatively is going to be, and while bi polars are happy, they are ******* happy, they seem a splash crazed. in case you're nonetheless worried you have it flow and notice your GP, better of success :)

honestly no - you didn't mention any of the hallmark symptoms of bipolar disorder - racing thoughts, rapid speech, severe mood swings, unaware of your surroundings, and on and on.

no I don't think you are, but you should be seeing a doctor for diagnosis, not us.

honestly you sound that you are lonely and unloved - a doctor putting you on pills isn't going to meet the needs of your heart - only Jesus can do that, and if your family isn't there for you -then you need to make friendships with other people - still show respect to your family but make friends. But meds can help with some of the depression you are experiencing. You are hurting inside - and I hear that loud and clear.

I don't know how old you are.

God has a purpose for you -

Obey your parents - I know they seem unreasonable, but you are under their authority.
but don't tolerate abuse, call the police if he's hitting you or anyone else. (if you can do it safely)

Possibly a combination of Avoidant Personality Disorder ( see http://www.mental-health-abc.com/ ), depression, and social anxiety. See suicidal thoughts, depression treatments, and social anxiety/shyness at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris on pages 5, 2, and 9, and check out the Bipolar Disorder (page 5) for your brother, and take the tests, too. You should seek therapy, if not considerably improved in several months. Work on your self esteem/confidence, and practise one of the relaxation methods, daily.

I am bipolar so I might be able to help. Many cases of depression are caused by bipolar. If you get mad or upset very easily and some one in your family has bipolar.. and your father thinks you might have bipolar, I think it would be best if you got checked out by a doctor. The best of luck!!!!!
