Because we spoil them and make them feel like they are so special, even more than us. If you give your kids everything they want, they learn to expect more. Parents need to respect themselves and show their kids, they are special also.

well why do parents expect so much from kids. They have to bring home good grades or they'll get in trouble, they have to do chores that the parent doesn't do. Some parents call themselves good cause they get their kid in a good school and just expects them to do good. Did you ever think about that?

we now live in a world , that dose not care , money is the new god , the new Church is the shopping centre children are having children , children killing children , parents beating up teachers , teachers can not face the children , children beating up teachers children brought up with no love , no social skills every weekend is Xmas's i want i get any think for a quite life , adults abuse children , everyone should take a good look at themselves , we look to blame someone for our mistakes , it a material world

I've been a mother for 14 years. I've found that somewhere along the line, our kids got the idea that we are not human. They have to learn that our entire lives SEEM to revolve around them but they really don't. If you mean material things, well, this seems to be an on-going trend...who has the best camera phone, ipod, playstations, vacations...on and on and on. In this case, they need to learn understanding and respect.

Because they are children and are totally dependent on there parents. We have to teach them to be self sufficient. We are not born adults. Peace

it's the parents fought as much, a person teaches another person how to treat them.
now adays parents give up and give in, we are teaching a generation of disrespectful, self centered, selfless kids that are going to be teaching our kids kids, running our businesses and our country.
if you don't give them everything in the beginning they won't expect as much, teach them to be responsible, make them get a Job if they want a car, don't pay for their college, it doesn't benefit the parent, & why spend the retirement money

Yes,I suppose lots of them do...but those are the ones that have had it all given to them by their Parents all the time, give give, give...and they will keep on taking even when their Parents are old and grey .
YET THOSE CHILDREN THAT HAVE BEEN SLUNG IN HOMES NEVER APPEAR TO WANT MORE THAN LOVE FROM THEIR PARENTS...... ALBEIT THEY RARELY RECEIVE IT........
