Okay...I'm an upcoming high school senior. I'm going to graduate in May 2008 at 17. Begin attending Georgia State University June 2008. Get my master's in Actuarial Science, Risk Management and Insurance, and Computer Science by 2012 at 23. Get married at 24 in the courtroom. Start having kids at 25. Have my dream big wedding after saving more for it. Live happily ever after.

Any additions/subtractions...what do you think...is it a do-able plan?

We make plans, God makes decisions.

Keep reaching for your goals but life has a funny way of changing.

I think it's downright silly to have a courthouse marriage, start having kids and then have a big princessy wedding years later. Whenever I get invited to something like that, I think, "Who do they think they are kidding?" Besides, after you become a parent, you won't want the big wedding, because your priorities will become far more serious. You'll be saving your $$ for education and braces and violin lessons and what not.

Do you have a partner at hand for this timetable? I wanted to have my first child in my mid 20s, but I held out for the right guy and didn't even start dating him until I was 29. Looking back, it was far, far, FAR more important for me to wait for the right partner than to stick to an arbitrary timetable.

It's best to keep things loose and flexible. Set your priorities and stick to THOSE, not your timetable.

sounds great, and keep dreaming, just don't be so set in the timing of it. Marriage and Children come, just not usually when you expect them. If you don't find the right man, (Or if you have and something happens) How would you feel if you were 24 and single?

Also keep in mind that life can and often does get in the way.

It is doable if it is truly what you want to do. But, you really can't time love perfectly. You may be 19 or 38 when you find the man you want to spend the rest of your life with.
