Help my autistic child glasses has 7 scratches on it but they are little should I buy new ones. please read on

He is only 2 and half and autistic so he cannot tell me if is no good for him. The 7 scratches on both lens are very very small. Someone told me if the scratches are small its ok. Please help in your opinion should I buy new glasses for him???

If it were my child, I would not be asking this here. I would ask your eye doctor.

My advice is to call your child's optometrist and ask. I have 2 small scratches on my lenses that I do not notice. Yet I know some Autists have a keener sense of sight.

If you do purchase new glasses, I would ask if they could put a scratch free coat on the lenses (this is kind of like scotch guard). This should help deter future scratches.

Hello:

I would set up an appointment with an eye doctor and get your child some new glasses. It doesn't matter if your child has a disability or not,the most important thing to do is to make sure that they can see clearly out of their glasses,because their eyes are so important.

Young children are notorious for not taking really good care of their glasses which can result in scratches all over their glasses. When you make your appointment with an eye doctor ask them to write down what types of frames and lenses would be the best for your child to wear. Good luck and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you get his eyes examined and get him a new pair of glasses too! ;-)
