rant some more at you? Just wondering if it's worth the ten points or not, what do you think?

I would love that option. I can't count the number of times that someone has given me Best Answer, just so they could chew on my keister a little bit more. And not surprisingly, a lot of times that's been because I've given an answer that a Catholic-basher didn't happen to like.

If I could, I'd refuse those ten points just to make a point, as it were. Thank goodness for the Comments feature. . .that's the only way we have to counter the attack in a lot of cases.

I know exactly what you mean.
It's rather puzzling when you get a best answer from someone who then goes on to explain why you are totally incorrect...but then, there are no rules that say that you have to be in agreement with your answer, or even that you must be polite to the person you choose.
I've gotten best answers from people who disagreed with me, but still have a mutual respect...
And I've also gotten the "other kind"...
Ahh, well, what the heck...ten points is ten points, I guess!

Take the ten points and ignore him. It's not worth the trouble.

I'm surprised to hear people actually do that. I wouldn't know, since I never check that email account I used to sign up with. It works out well that way.

If you feel strongly you can report the question and have it deleted... he'll lose the ten points.

But I recommend no censorship and just moving on.

I never email people, but if you allowed email, I just would have sent to you what I had to say rather than give you best answer.

[I assuming I guessed correctly and you are speaking of me.]

Comment-rant back at him. That's what I did.

if someone gives me a stupid answer and it was not the best, sometimes i will have to pick that answer as the "best" just to clarify myself and put that person in their place.
sometimes it just doesn't matter though.
