His "imminent demise"? For Jesus to have claimed the crown of Israel would have been disobedience to God the Father. Remember his prayer the night he was betrayed, "not as I will, but as thou wilt". Jesus was obedient unto death. And by the way, his death, burial and resurrection occurred "according to the Scriptures." His "imminent demise" as you call it was necessary so that we could recieve forgiveness of sins. And, yes, He will return one day to claim that crown with the approval of the Father. That too will be according to the Scriptures.

Not at all. His death was politically inevitable and, in the christian view, spiritually necessary to his message and destiny. His refusal to claim the crown of Israel showed that the scope of his mission was much broader than his followers originally could envision. He was not to be merely important in the narrow scope of the history of one nation, but was to be pivotal to bringing his message to a whole world of people. By claiming right to Israel, he may or may not have saved his own life, but would have reduced his legacy to a local icon, instead of a worldwide phenomena.

It wasn't his intention at the time. After his resurrection he was asked,d " So when they met together, they asked him, "Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?"He said to them: "It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
His rule over the earth from Israel is yet to come when he returns.

It would have resulted in damning of millions of Gentiles who wouldn't have heard the word of God.
It also shows you don't know about double fulfillment and partial present fulfillment and later total fulfillment of prophecy.
That is why my Jewish brothers failed to correlate the "Suffering Messiah " with the "Conquering Messiah".
He suffered was raised to glory and like Daniel says ,'when the time of the Gentiles is full'...Jesus will return the conquering Messiah (Rev. 19)
That's why he only quoted 1/2 of the Isaiah 61 prophecy in Luke 4:18-21.
If he fulfilled all of it ,He would have brought vengence from the Lord. That comes in Revelation .

Some people still believe The MESSIAH keeps holding back from coming to free their (earthly)country.
Talking about this JESUS(CHRIST) I know and HE knows me:
He was of GOD,and HE IS GOD.
This JESUS was walking around the land of Judea, carrying on HIS FATHER's commands some 2000 years ago.(The MESSIAH was with them, they didn't even realize it,awesome.)
Before HIS was crucified HE told HIS beloved disciples that HE was to go back to HIS FATHER(in heaven),yet HE didn't want to leave them unattended(HE knew/knows that's impossible for flesh to walk alone in this spooky world)that He promised to send another COMFORTER(not that blanket thing we use in the Winter), namely the HOLY SPIRIT to LIVE IN THEM(of this kind is really hard for people to digest).
On the 3rd day after the crucifixion HIS dead body was no where to be found. HE IS ALIVE!!!!!!!
40 days after HE's caught up into the heaven to sit on the THRONE on the righthand-side of HIS FATHER(Acts 1:3-11.).
50 days after came the HOLY SPIRIT,as promised, anointing the desciples(Acts 2:1-13),and it was the day THE CHURCH was born.
Is the event through? NO. HE IS COMING BACK(it's the SECOND COMING of CHRIST)to pick me and you(?) whoever loves HIM and we gonna reign the NEW EARTH alongside with HIM(...wow,what on earth is this one 'NEW EARTH"?)
The Israelites are earthly(:in flesf) Israel; the CHURCH is SPIRITUAL ISRAEL.
GOD doesn't belong to our realm, but spiritual. So to say if we want to approach GOD, we gotta go spiritual.
Any single thing presented in the BIBLE talks about hidden treasure. If you do not want to dig it out,it won't come your way naturally, unless you got to be the chosen one.
As to the wisdom, understanding, knowledge of GOD is indeed hidden away from whoever thinks himself wise.
HE IS ALIVE,SITTING ON THE THRONE on the righthand-side of HIS FATHER. HE IS the socalled MESSIAH whom matter of factly is still expected HIS COMING by some people who thought they know everything, yet they MISSED the core. Because they take the huge, precious events as FOLKLORE or may be FABLE.
Be BELIEVER to talk about GOD in JESUS de CHRIST,or else we just gonna arque cluelessly.
GOD bless you,dude.
