Ever noticed that people seem to beleive in a God that fits what they personally want. When people ask "what would Jesus do?" they always will answer with what they would do. Becaus God's values seem to always be the same as whatever society's values are at a given time.

Isn't it possible that God might not look, talk, act, ect... like us?

Of course it is possible that God doesn't look or act as we do.

Your theory is not correct. EVERYONE does not imagine that God is just like they are. You've made a sweeping generalization. SOME people DO imagine that God is just like them. I think most people who are religious realize that God is perfect, and they are not.

God's values never change. He's the same all the time.

If god were like me, one month of pms and the world would be over. Yes, god does generally fit into a category that an individual wants god in. We would be in serious trouble if god were anything like the lot of us!

God makes hats? Lives in the midwest? like chocolate?

Strange, I never assumed that - i always thought god was formless, able to take on any appearance, but why should it? I don't even assume that god is male or has a sexual designation at all.

If humanity is made in God's image, then no....but imagination is what started all this in the first place. Think about it.

That's because man created God in his image to give an authoritative voice to his beliefs and prejudices.

Unless I am all-powerful (I do everything that could be done, but actually do it), all-present (am everywhere, everywhen, simultaneously), and all-knowing (know everything), then I don't. Never even comes close to me except that I am him, in that I am one of the things he is, in that...

...aww, heck! That brings us back to your point, in a way.

I believe they do this because they don't know Jesus Christ or they don't know how to get to know Him. If they really knew Him they would know that His ways are not our ways.
