Oh, I can hardly wait to see the answers you're going to get with this one. The obvious answer is that we Catholics *are* Christians, but a lot of people aren't willing to listen to what those of us who've studied our faith and know why we believe what we believe have to say.

They apparently prefer to listen to what someone else has told them about Catholicism -- how we supposedly worship Mary and statues and think that the Pope's word is more important than the Bible, etc. None of those things could be farther from the truth, but a lot of people would rather believe the lies that they've been taught, instead of finding out the truth for themselves.

I am saved through the atoning death of Jesus Christ on the Cross, which makes me a Christian, last time that I checked. I just happen to be a member of the Roman Catholic faith, that's all.

Catholicism was the first Christian church. All other forms are from people who disagreed with the pope, or interpreted the scriptures differently. It's really all from the same place. They need to get over it.

Let me set the record straight. I am catholic and we do NOT worship Mary or the Saints or the Pope. Those are complete lies. There in no one other the Blessed Trinity who is to ever be worshipped!!! Those who say that catholics worship anyone or anything other than God has either been lied to and bought it without checking it out OR they are the ones spreading the lies. Just had to set that right.

I don't think it's a different religion. I just do not agree with many of their doctrines, such as the line of succession from peter, transubstantiation, infant baptism, veneration of Mary, indulgences, purgatory, the whole priest and nun thing...etc.

Well at least a good atheist like myself will consider you part of Christianity.

I feel for you all if they are trying to stick you with the rest of us...not that with us is a bad thing, but come on, you're Christians...and apparently they are blind.

Because it is.

The beliefs and practices of the RCC is very different than what the Bible teaches.

The RCC is a mixture of Christianity and paganism.

Roman Catholics know this too.

Roman Catholics don't believe they are the same religion as other Bible believing Christians.

Catholics don't usually call themselves Christians they call themselves Catholics.

The Roman Catholic Church used to murder, that is burn at the stake those who disagreed with them. And those they burned at the stake then, believed much the same as Protestants believe today.

Which is why I believe the RCC is an evil religion.
