With excellent food and good vet care and with the right amount of exercises your dog can live a long and healthy life. Also getting your dog sprayed or neutered will add years to their life also.

1) High quality food, and joint supplements early in life.
2) Plenty of excercise.
3) Regular visits to a GREAT vet.
4) Get titer tests done instead of vaccinations.
5) Acupuncture or chiropractic for any pain issues.
6) LOTS and LOTS of LOVE

It is just a fact of life.. but a story I read a long time ago said that everyone is on the planet to learn to be a nicer, kinder being. It just takes people a lot longer to learn how to be a better being than it takes a dog.

Be sure to keep your dogs on a good quality of food. Make sure they visit the vet yearly and be sure to provide mental and physical exercise.

Thay have shorter life spans because they reproduce more often, and have more than one pup usually. See Vet regularly. As for prolonging life...quality food, regular deworming is key, and lots of love. Titers are blood levels.Platelet count/oxygen level and so on.

It's in the biology and physiology of their bodies. Larger dogs tend to live shorter lives because of the stress of such a big body on their organs. Depends on the breed also, as each breed has it's own set of medical problems.

Good diet, exercise, and regular vet visits are the only ways to ensure your dog lives as long as he deserves.

Smaller dogs tend to live longer than large ones. Some are more susceptible to diseases.

Regular vet visits, excersice and a good diet are about the only things you can do to help them live a good, long life.

Gee, sounds just like us humans. =)

Feed it a high quality food, and make sure it is well vaccinated, and you provide it a healthy lifestyle.and it has visits to the vet for checkups. Remember dogs age faster than humans, so while to us they have short life spans for them, not so much.

Well Dogs can have short lifespan if they are not feed properly.

All breeds have different lifespans. However if you keep your dog healthy and feed him well then I am sure that they live well.
