I am looking for a Browning Hi Power, preferably chambered in .40 S&W, but 9mm will also do. I want a two-tone black and silver version. Also, I am not looking to spend too much on it. Any ideas?

Browning pistols are not cheap. On their site the prices run from $813-$896. No 2 tones.
It would appear you will have to go for a used one, and not too many owners will part with theirs cheap.

If you really want a Hi-Power, you want to spend some money. They are very good guns, and popular as well. Prices for a used one will still be a little high. If you want cheap, you may need to reconsider what you are shopping for.

I would expect to spend about 1K on a new one. I have not checked the prices for one myself, but like another poster has already said, the cheapest he found was around $800. It is probably a "slightly used" model.
Pawn shop, auction arms and maybe even shotgun news.
Good luck

The mag disconnect grew to become into in basic terms placed there for political motives; the French asked it particularly whilst they commissioned Browning to create the hi-power. i could say a competent 50% of hi-power owners do away with it right this moment because it very much improves the feel of the set off. I meant in case you elect it replaced you ought to...yet why could you prefer to? The mag disconnect is considered as a criminal accountability in today's international and fairly plenty all police departments and militaries have moved faraway from them. The hi-power (AKA P35) grew to become into created in 1935...gunfighting dogma has replaced slightly considering that then. the well-liked "if it may flow incorrect this is going to" concept says that the fewer disabling "safeties" a gun has the extra effective...you won't choose your gun to be rendered inoperable could a sort of safeties fail or be by twist of fate engaged.

You might look in pawn shops or gun shops for a used one. If you are looking to buy a new Browning High Power, expect to spend some cash.

If you don't want to spend too much, you are looking at the wrong brand. You want a high dollar gun for little to no money. Not likely to happen. I just looked to make sure I wasn't lying to you, and not a one was under $800.

You wil not find a two-tone BHP model without spending a lot of money. even the contract-style MkIII models are over the top on price. You will see when you look into it.

Gunbroker.com is a great place to get low priced firearms. http://gunbroker.com/Auction/SearchResults.asp?SearchType=0&Keywords=browning+hi+power I saw several in the $400-600 dollar range.
