those homemade ice cream makers that turns out actually creamy? Everytime I use mine, it makes ice cream but it's like milky/slushy ice cream, not thick-thick ice cream.

Yes, I use the rock salt already.
I'm talking about the texture itsself.

Try this recipe and follow it exactly, if it doesnt work, I would think maybe something is not working right with your machine

HOMEMADE VANILLA ICE CREAM

2 qts. half & half
6 eggs
6 c. sugar
1 c. flour
Some vanilla extract
Some milk
Ice cream maker
2 (10 lb.) blocks crushed party ice
1 box rock salt

Mix sugar and flour by hand real good. Put under mixer on medium power. Add eggs. Then slowly pour half of half and half in at a time. Mix about 2 minutes. Add 5 capfuls of vanilla extract or to desired taste. Pour in ice cream freezer and top off with milk. Add lid and churning paddle. Carefully put in ice cream barrel and insert motor, turn on motor and add ice around sides then use rock salt to freeze the ice. NOTE: Read directions of ice cream maker before use.

Also, how long are you churning the ice cream? You might not be churning long enough. After it churns, and you want it to be harder, take the ice cream out of the drum and put in into an air-tight container. Put the ice cream in the freezer for about an hour. You should be good to go. add salt its not table salt but the other salt it will make it hard and homemade ice cream is some of the best stuff

i always have to stick my ice cream i the freezer after done mixing it in the machine. otherwise it is more like softserve.
