No!! There are millions of people in the states who speak Spanish so why not go with it!! Canada has two official languages English and French works for us!! American is the official language right now in the States It's kind of an English slang but I would call it English !! Just not proper English as any Brit will tell you I'm sure! There are so many accents too just like in the UK and Ireland! When you have that many people speaking Spanish it would be the right thing to do!! This doesn't mean English should be abolished it will still be the main language spoken!!

It has no longer something to do with mob rule. although technically in an Democracy you do have mob rule properly greater a majority rule. the final public of individuals communicate English. on an analogous time because it would authentic in some counties close to the Mexico boarder the different ninety 9% of the rustic speaks English. All of our street signs and warning signs, criminal documents etc are all in English. The low value costs of becoming English the stable language of the U. S. would be great.

I grew up in a country where Molotov cocktails were throw over language issues. They got over their differences and now that country is officially tri-lingual.
Is what the Americans should do. Make it officially bi-lingual and it would show acceptance of and respect for the spanish and english speakers alike.

No. I think they might possibly declare 'Ameri-english' to be an official language though. Countries can have more than one official language. Switzerland is a small country with four official languages. Admittedly this results in inter-regional conferences being conducted in English, but we can't use English for official purposes. (In courts of law for example).

This is a standard that has been more lax recently, which is unfortunate. To become a citizen a person was required to show proficiency in reading/writing and speaking of the English language. Obviously that is not enforced, hence why our voter's pamphlets are in a half a dozen languages now!
The simple answer is YES.

NO! Then there will always be political problems with what the official language should be and whether there should be more than one. Trust me, look at Canada. We have English and French as our official languages. However, the majority of the country is English speaking. Those darn French hold the majority speaking English hostage and threaten to separate.

They chose English years ago, but I believe that as they owed so much to France for winning the war of Independence for them, they almost adopted the French language.
