I was wondering if you had a picture of puppies at 1 month old... I am comparing them to the puppy I just picked out of a litter of two... Something doesn't seem right ...

IF NOT: do you have/know of a page with pomeranian growth stages?

Pomeranians normally have 2-4 puppies in the litter... and he was born bigger than the other one...

"Now what doesn't seem correct to you?"

I guess it is the fact that he doesn't really look like a pomeranian.. I no they dont get there coats till later, but looking at other photos of them around 5 weeks, they look very different... I guess I am a little paranoied that his coat is to small or something.

OK I know nothing about Poms. But I do know breeding. The size of the litter has NOTHING to do with nutrition at all.
The size of a litter has everything to do with the number of eggs the female releases and the ability of the sperm to fertilize the eggs.

That's being taken care of the fact that one pups is bigger than the other is just the fact that males usually are bigger than females right for the get go. The bigger pup will also push itself right into feeding and therefore he will grow bigger than the litter mate. This has also nothing to do with the fact that the pup you picked out is unhealthy.

Now that being said what doesn't seem correct to you???

Ok like I said I don't know the breed so I can only advise I can give you is that if this breeder is reputable and has been breeding these dogs for many years and if she has guaranteed these pups then I think you will have to follow your gut. If something is telling you it isn't right then go with that and look elsewhere. OK
I just cant stand when someone gives totally horrible answers about breeding and it is evident to me that the person above me know zip but felt free to give you horrible advice.

If you are having second thoughts about the quality of the pup &/or the credibility of the breeder, do your homework & find another breeder. Your gut feeling is usually right. I went through the same thing a few years ago.

Here is a link with pictures from a Reputable Breeder, that breeds & shows Champions.

He might be the runt. Only two pups? That's probably due to bad nutrition...and when bitches have bad nutrition, they not only have few pups, they also don't have the healthiest of pups.
