Last night after having just awoke, my boxer's head began bobble around for a couple of minutes. This has happened again today after her nap. I've researched it and have learned that this is fairly common in Boxers and Bulldogs. I was wondering if any boxer or bulldog owners out there have experienced these tremors in their dogs. I'll be contacting my vet on Monday, but from what I've read it is reletively harmless. Please tell me what you know.

We had this happen to our Boxer. We thought it was ear mites the first time it happened as she had mites and the tremors stopped once they were treated. It did happen periodically throughout her life and she did have sensitive ears with a tendancy for mite infestation but we never could say for sure that this was the reason. She lived a long (12 years) and healthy life even with this problem and died of an unrelated cancer. I would get your Boxer checked for mites just in case but also wouldn't worry too much about the tremors if there's no mites. We found that the tremors stopped if we gave her something to eat - the movement of her jaw helped - again leading us to believe it was an ear problem as moving your jaw affects your ears. Hope this helps

Oh my gosh. We had a boxer who did that about 25 years ago. She kept getting worse and began staring off while her head was bobbing. The vet said she was having seizures. She got worse and started falling down and once fell down the stairs.

Now this was 25 years ago and some serious advances have been made in vet. medicine, so this may be irrelevant. Hope it's all good. Boxers are the best.
