He probably feels very strange around you now. In my experience time heals all.

The situation you have indicated does not make any sense unless you are leaving something unsaid. While I have a couple of thoughts on what you might not be saying, I don't want to speculate openly. However, if what you've written is accurate, then I suggest this person is not your friend much less your best friend.People don't stop talking to their best friend just because that person expresses deeper feelings for them.I would ask you to look within you to make sure you have not unintentionally offended him in some fashion. If you are certain you haven't, then let him be and be glad for it .With friends like that, who needs enemies. Good luck.

It depends. If you just told him yesterday, leave him alone for a little while. He needs time to cool off and think about everything. After a while confront him again. Tell him that you would rather have him as a friend than nothing at all(if that's what you really want to do, if not than just disregard that). Just tell him how you miss him and how you miss just talking and hanging out with him and pretty much whatever else you feel.

It appears that you have made a very comfortable relationship (for him) uncomfortable, and he's was caught off guard. Give him space to absorb your confession. Drop it for now, and trust in the strength of your freindship. Take this time to evaluate the how you are going to deal with how he accepts or rejects what your statement implied. You know him, right and if you put aside your impulse to put your other foot in your mouth (not to say theres anything wrong in expressing yourself) you will discover a solution to reconciling what seemily has been a good thing.

Best friends are very special. I would defiantly, appologize for making him feel uncomfortable. If you are also a male, you can understand his discomfort. If you are a female, with the apology ask to continue the relationship in whatever manner they are willing.
