We still have a few months before the '08 season begins.
A lot of things can happen. Every car has multiple sponsors.
Money talks, who is going to pay for the major sponsorship, who will be a minor sponsor. Will SONY be the biggest money contract?
Until we get insider info it is up in the air.
Will they change the color?
A lot of things can happen in six months.
It's kinda like bein' pregnant:
What'll this baby look like?

It seems to me at one point maybe an article on Nascar said that Budweiser's contract was through 08 but there was an option that if Dale Jr wasn't there in 08 then Budweiser wasn't obligated to DEI for the 08 season.

As far as sponsors go for the Hendrick organization, they already have obligations that throw a kink into the works as far as bringing Budweiser over the first season in 08 to the Hendrick organization. Budweiser is exploring the possibilities. I'm sure Hendrick and Budweiser have enough money to buy out any other sponsor's contracts. They can make things happen if they want to. Jr has money also.

As far as the 8 goes and it going with Jr that is going to be a money thing also. Teresa has already shown she is a money person. She was willing to sell Dale Jr his part of the business for a large amount of MONEY! I think it will be the same with the #8. If she can make enough money then she will sell it. If she can keep it and make more money she will. As far as doing it just for Jr she is not. Use the family business as a example. Jr didn't get it either.

So anything is still possible as being able to carry his image and number over to his new team next year. Wait until it all folds out before you get dissappointed. It ain't over yet.

Part of his image has been fostered by his longtime association with sponsor Budweiser, which has him under contract for one more year. But it appears unlikely the beer company will be the sponsor on his car in 2008, with Hendrick saying he already has primary sponsors for each of his four cars.

Meanwhile, Junior has announced a personal services contract with Sony that could well be the start of building a new, more diverse and possibly more mature image for the 32-year-old racer.

The Sony announcement came Thursday night at a Napa Valley winery, where Earnhardt, driving in Sunday's Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Infineon Raceway, tried to play down any efforts to change his image.

"I don't think this partnership is a big flag-waving (deal) saying there's a more mature Dale Jr. out there or whatnot because there's no real target market as far as age group when it comes to electronics," he said during the announcement.

"With the things we've decided to do over the last 10 months, there'll be a lot of new partnerships and new agreements. They will complement not only my personality (but) what I enjoy to do."

I really really thought Bud was gonna be a sure thing for Dale in HMS, but it kinda sounds like he's gonna wipe the slate clean and start all over again.

I dont think its wierd that he wont have the Bud car. Its not like we havent seen him run a AC Delco or Oreo car before. But I am disappointed that his sponser is Sony, kind of wish he got a American Company instead of a foreign company

As far as Bud, they arent tied into a contract with Jr, but with DEI for one more year. Budwieser really has no other option but to honor their contract with DEI. The only other way is if Bud spent a fortune to sponser his car while sponsering a car for DEI. I wouldnt be surprised to see Truex running around in a Red Ford next year...*snickers*

The deal with Sony, I think, is just a spokesman arrangement not a car sponsorship deal for his car. That would be a deal with HMS not Jr. The Bud issue is still in the air unless you have inside information. If so dish!! The #5,#8 deal is still in the air as well.

He can still drive the same car if DEI releases the rights to it and the sponsor wants to stay with it. That is yet to be determined and being currently negotiated.

It'll look weird not seeing him with a Bud car. What about that great commercial with him and the crazy mutant desert guys?!? That's a great one...I'll miss seeing that :-(

I am about as happy as seeing my man: Mark Martin in a 01 car (Army). I liked him in the #6 car.

He could still drive the Bud car if they move w/him. I would be surprised if they don't.
