Fruits. Dogs will eat both fresh and dried fruits. Stick with apples, berries, bananas, and seedless watermelon. Don't let your dog eat too much! Too much fruit may upset your dog's digestive system.

This is a very touchy question. DO NOT feed your dog grapes or raisins. I believe I read/heard somewhere that these are toxic to dogs. As for other fruits, a little bite probably wouldn't hurt, but remember, wild dogs typically eat a diet of mostly meat, so this will probably hold true for domestic dogs. I would really recommend that you only feed your dog a food formulated especially for dogs, or specifically to meet your dogs needs. If your dog has a certain need not met by your current food, call your vet and ask what options there are for over the counter foods, or if the dog's need would require a prescription food. Once again, dog food is made for dogs, and it's probably the best thing to feed them. There are other options, such as a raw food diet, but with all of the health risks, why subject them to that threat?

If you would like to give your pup a little treat, check out your pet store for a variety of treats for dogs. I've even seen "Doggie Desserts"- these were little pies, I believe, that were desserts made just for our furry friends.

If you do feed your dog a bite of fruit, look up the specific fruit on google to see if it's safe- just google "Is -insert fruit name- toxic to dogs?"

Good luck.

some things are just not healthy to dogs. For example, they aren't suppose to have grapes or raisins. Those are bad for them. They also can't have garlic, chocolate. I have a huge list of things they can't have from a class I took a year ago, so just ask if you want to know.

Dogs can eat pretty much anything. And I think chocolate only harms some dogs, because one of my friends dogs almost died from eating chocolate, and one of my friends dog was fine after eating a whole package of oreos. My mom told me that her dog used to to eat whole onions, apples, and packages of velveta with the foil on. I think dogs have much higher immunities than people think. They're fine when they eat poop, so why not fruit?

I think I read somewhere that grapes/raisins are not good for dogs. Check with your vet to make sure what fruits and veggies to feed your dog.

Yes, its healthy for dogs to eat fruits and veggies.... if they like them, be sure they are included in his diet.

This is my edit: As I was reminded here... yes, avoid grapes/raisins, and onions. And most all seeds of fruits.

My beagle LOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVEs apples, carrots & clementines.
She's perfectly heathy, but if she has too many veggies & fruits she sometimes has soft poops. (especially with the clementines) But that doesn't hurt her.

NEVER EVER grapes, raisins, onions, garlic, leeks, and of course chocolate.

GRAPES....DO NOT give a dog grapes. Obviously this means raisins as well. It can cause their kidneys to shut down.

I know it isn't a fruit...but my vet recommends baby carrots for my dog. and he loves them!

Some fruits can really make them gassy, if you want to put up with that. Others can be hard on their stomach.
