question, the asker can't take the time to choose the best answer themself, and it goes to the voting panel. Should Yahoo deduct points from the asker for not taking the time to select and award 10 points.

I dont like to let any of my questions get voted on , but I do hate long boring answers and theres loads of em do it. So i dont bother coming on here that much now, and I always ask people keep your answer short.

A few times I have had so many good answers, I really couldn't choose. Also, some people who are not on this board reguarly might not realize they have a time period in which to choose the best answer.
If they don't choose within a time period then it is too late. The only thing they can do is vote on the best answer to their own question.

I think you are the best. I think you have the best opinion on the genealogy forum has ever been seen!

Now that you have a fan that believes in you, can you survive the lack of acclaim you have received on the boards?

Whether or not anyone acknowledges you and no matter what they think of you and your answers and how many points you get should not matter, what you believe about yourself is the only thing that is relevant.

Good Luck!

Does it annoy me that so many were so poorly brought up as to not acknowledge the sometimes multiple efforts others went to to aid in their behalf? That's a fact of life when venturing outside one's chosen environment. Realistically I have no expectations that account for them.

Good manners are never ever out of place.

There is, however, no rule of good manners requiring one to continue to extend courtesy where courtesy is not extended in return. ;)

Whether Yahoo should deduct points. No, I don't think so because that's a negative. Leaving it to voters is a positive.

Now back to our regularly scheduled genealogy program.

No, to both your questions. I like reading unresolved questions and voting for what I think is the best answer. Sometimes the answers are so good it is very hard to choose a best answer and that is why they leave the question for voting.

Actually, if it's only the asker's opinion, it shouldn't really count cause it's the right answer to only one person. I let mine just get voted.

No, it doesn't bother me personally, I think its a good balanced way really. Sometimes individuals don't have the time to get back online, and putting things to vote helps others gain points they feel they want and need.

Sounds appropriate.

nope it doesn't bother me at all.... it might do if I could "buy" stuff with me points, but we can't... so who cares.

I wish that was all I had to worry about in life!
