In the basement there are 3 light switches in the off position. Each switch controls 1 of 3 light bulbs on the floor above. You may move any of the switches, but you may only go up stairs one time. How can you determine which switch controls each light?

Go up, remove the one bulb you can't see very well from basement! Switch on any: see what light is on! (if no light on, then that is the one whose bulb you removed! or, from the one now burning, you know which switch for which bulb!)

turn the first switch on for about a minute then turn it off then turn the third switch on then go upstairs.
The third switch is on so go and feel the first and second lightbulbs and if one of the lightbulbs are hot then you know that the first light switch turned on the one with the hot bulb.

Turn on 1 of them for a long time.
Leave 1 off.
Leave the other one on for a time comparatively shorter than the long one.
Go uupstairs and judge by how hot they are.

Turn on all of them then go upstairs. one of them is the one u need. (i've heard this one before, but i forgot most of it)

turn anybody change to the "on" place for 5 minutes, then turn that change "off". directly turn the different change to the "on" place and run up stairs. experience the two lighting fixtures that are "off". considered one of them would be "warm" because of the fact is replaced into "on" for 5 minutes. needless to say the "warm" bulb is controlled via the 1st change you grew to become "on". the sunshine it somewhat is presently "on" is controlled via the change you final turn "on". The "chilly" bulb it somewhat is "off" is controlled via the only change left. while fixing problems we usually might desire to apply all our senses.
