Corn tastes so much better roasted.

Peel back husk gently and remove silks. Spread a mixture of 1 stick butter, 1/2 tsp salt and 1 tsp chili powder over corn and recover with husk. Place on cookie sheet and roast at 350 degrees for 45 mins.

Ughh...I can't believe how long most of these answers say. In the midwest the usual way is start the water boiling, go get the corn out of the garden, husk it and drop it in the water. Cover and remove from heat. Two minutes later enjoy your corn.
I have also husked it, wrapped it in plastic wrap and microwaved it for 2 minutes but my microwave is old and small so one minute would probably do in a new model.
You've already overcooked your corn this time but try it my way next time and you will have sweet tender delightful corn.

Well, you've probably already boiled it already. Next time you might want to try this neat trick that a corn farmer at the farmer's market taught me. Take off the outer husk and just leave a layer or two of leaves. Put in the microwave at 2 minute, then turn over and cook for 2 more. Let cool for a minute so you don't burn your hands, and when you take off the husk, the silk comes right off! He freezes it (raw) this way too - wrap each ear in cling wrap and then a layer of foil. I've tried both -- it works and is so easy!

If it's fresh, 10-15 minutes will get it nice and tender. If it's been sitting for a while, or purchased in a supermarket, it may take 20 to get tender. Add some sugar in the water to make storebought corn sweeter.

Fifteen minutes max., but the water should already be boiling when you put in the cob.

If its Pop corn you are cooking. Sorry to break the bad news to you. You cover each grain of corn with oil and heat it up really hot in a deep covered pot. Once a few start to pop. Remove from the heat and shake the pot, to ensure they all get to pop.Holding the lid firmly in place at all times. Once they have popped you can add salt and or butter, chocolate, so that it melts but that is soo messy, but oh soo good, peanut butter or marmite(lol) virtually anything that takes your fancy really. I like toffee popcorn

TAKE IT OUT OF THE WATER! You just need to heat it, not cook it. Just a minute or two to get all the kernels hot.

Also, try fresh corn on the cob, raw. Just bite into it! YUM!!!
