Yes, there COULD be.
There were 3 different audio systems available from the factory in a 1996 Ford Taurus.
One of which included a 6 disc changer, which would be located in the trunk.

All Taurus,s did not come with a CD player, Here is something to think about If your radio has a CD button your in luck however if not you will need two things a factory radio with CD changer's on it and a CD player and a jumper wire that is if you won't to keep it looking like the factory , hope this helps.

if it came with one from the factory it had to be ordered and it would be in the center console
