The tounge takes a lot longer to heal- and it hurts more because your trying to use it to talk, eat, whatever. The belly-button is an easier (to take care of) and less a painful piercing.

You kids are a little silly. "My friend this, my friend that..." If you go to a clean shop that uses sterilized one-use needles and wears gloves, you should be fine. I'm not saying that if all of these factors are in place you won't get an infect...you could; the fact is, you are 90% responsible for giving yourself an infection after getting a new piercing. People get infected piercings from touching their new wound, playing with the jewelry, letting OTHER people touch their new wound, not properly cleaning and taking care of the piercing. The navel is (truly) one of the more difficult places to heal, and honestly, it hurts more than other piercings. The reason it is prone to infection is because people that get their navel pierced often don't clean if enough. You know that nasty bellybutton smell...well, you just got a hole there and you have to take extra measures to keep it clean. The tongue is one of the least painful piercings and heals quickly. My only advice on getting a safe, clean, and professional tongue piercing is to make sure your piercer is using a bright flashlight to check for veins. (The flashlight should be single-use or cover with a bag, to ensure it is sterile). I am a professional piercer, so you're getting some of the best advice out there on the web.

Don't get ur tongue pierced because eventually the bar will rub against ur gums and make them wear down and ur teeth could fall out causing you to have to get fake teeth. And its nasty if you get an infection. Try your bellybutton but my friend had it done and hers did get infected and eventually fell out because the skin got thin and the ring was hanging by the skin and she has a scar and it is still red. Try checking out all the piercing places where ever you live and see which one is the cleanest and has all the health regulatios and all that good stuff.

I would say neither. When I got my belly button pierced as a teenager, it got infected often and I had to take it out after about 6 months. I also developed a scar from it, which is annoying. Most of the women I know who had their belly's pierced when they were younger also have some sort of scarring. The tongue piercing is a bad idea because you will lose taste buds, no fun!
