I recently lost my job and can't afford a vet. My cat is sick and vomitted a small amount of blood and seeks isolation. Is there any place I can take my pet and NOT pay? I am down on my luck right now. Help

No, there isn't, this is because vets have a very hard job to do and they have to be paid, although if you talk to your local shelter they sometimes give free/discounted vet checks if you are on a struggle with money...(don't worry, they won't take your cat away!)
hope your cat gets better!
:o)

Check your nearest pet charities. There are ones in the U.K. that will do it for free, so Canada must have something similar. Meantime, search on Answers for the solution to your cat's sickness - maybe a temporary solution is on Resolved Questions.

Call your local humane society or spca and tell them of your problem...they may be able to help pay. Can you ask a good friend or relative to lend you the money until you are back on your feet? They of all people should be the ones to trust you.

If you have a good relationship with the vet that you have been using just be straight with him/her about your circumstances. They will probably offer a reduced price, or samples of medicine, or all of that and a payment plan that you can afford.

Your local humane society will charge you based on your income. They take your word for it on what you make. I don't think that they take appointments so be prepared to wait for a while. Good luck!
