I don't want to quit my job. I like what I do even if it is in the corporate world. I want to take a vacation to help people less fortunate. Probably in a foreign country. I looked into the peace corp but they require a commitment of atleast 2 years. Any one have any ideas?

If you really want to help some people less fortunate than you, check out a local homeless shelter or the Salvation Army. Since you have access to a computer, it should be easy to find an organization nearby to help. You could also try local churches for ways to help. God bless you for wanting to reach out and help others.

How about helping people in THIS country? You can do volunteer and charity work and do not even need a vacation for this.
Maybe you need to decide what you want, a vacation or help people?

Well, my first suggestion is to stop calling it a vacation..haha!! There is always New Orleans. There are tons of orgaizations looking for people who can help clean, rebuild homes, businesses, donate time restructuring farm lands. I love that you wanna help other countries, but I think we need to spend more time helping our own, to! Good Luck!!

Use your vacation time in your city dude. Go feed at a homeless shelter, make sack lunches and pass out at the city park

Lots of places to look and lots of organizations that do that...you can go for as little as a week or two...sorry offhand dont have any websites...if really serious I will ask around and let you know (contact me)...it is actually becoming a new niche market in travel industry.

Try Habitat for Humanity; they have projects everywhere.
You don't have to travel to a foreign country either.
You can't do much abroad in a couple of weeks.

Go to india and stay as a volunteer. Build homes, bring food, provide medical care, or even build toys for youngsters! It's the perfect way to help, lord knows they need it! :]
