I believe that the Bible was created by some good men who were the leaders of their people. There was another good man (Jesus) whom they saw had shown the people a good way to live. So they wrote the Bible as a way of explaining to their people as what they saw as the 'right' way to live.
I believe it was sort of a book of stories and laws mingled together in much the same way as Elders of communities all over the world have done for all of time.
Shamans did much the same when they told stories to their people, they used parables as a way of explaining more complex ideals to people who couldnt understand them in their original form.
I do believe Jesus existed (and NO Im not a Christian), in much the same way I believe that Muhammad, Budda, etc also existed - but rather than being "THE" son of God, I believe that they were Avatars - Spiritually aware people who tried to make the world (or at least the bit of it they lived in) a better place by teaching the people a more harmonious way to live.
Quite honestly I think all of them would be ashamed to think that what they tried to do has been twisted and manipulated by other people for their own personal gain or to force others to believe as they do.
I believe that ALL religions have some truth in them and that it is up to each individual to seeking the truth and simply try to be a better person, to treat other people as they would like to be treated, and it doesnt matter in the name of what "God" you do it, you will be rewarded..................but that anyone who does anything bad in the name of a "God" will be punished either in this life or the next.
Just my views.......all I know for are is there are terrible atrocities committed in the name of "God" and that if s/he is watching over us, s/he must be horrified and angry that the do so. I wouldnt be surprised if any "God" that had been there had left for greener pastures a long time ago....cause humanity on the whole isn't exactly a shining example of goodness.

None of them. In the time the bible was created people use to speak each other and the bible could come as a form of art or literature. Just imagine the dad telling that histories to the son in the bedrock while sleeping.
In that time people comunicate each other... not like you that waste your time in answers.yahoo.com.

OT- a collection of myths, legends, stories about the tribal history of the jewish people.
NT- a conglomeration of letters, fallacies, myths gathered by the Roman Empire to garner unity in the empire and eventually used to take control (by force if necessary) over indigenous cultures as the empire spread.

Divine inspiration solely. Some people in the Bible may have dabbled in drugs "(there is nothing new under the sun...") Just because the Lord allowed them to hold the pen does not mean they were perfect, but the Lord works in mysterious ways and often utilizes the weakest people so that His strength and glory may be personified.
By reading the book of Exodus, you'll discover that Moses was not exactly articulate, suave, or debonair. In fact, he questioned the Lord's motives and argued with Him at every turn. He dreaded speaking before crowds. On the other hand, his brother Aaron, spoke with eloquence never waivering in his faith. Still, it was Moses who transcibed the Ten Commandments. Isn't that likely divine?
God will thus use the weak to showcase His power and allow the gifted to serve as silent mentors who complement those who are weaker in the body of Christ. A place, therefore, exists for EVERYONE in the Lord's plan and in His Kingdom.
Drugs themselves however had nothing to do with the writng of Scripture. Perhaps you think some of these individuals suffered bouts of hallucination. Ask yourself this, though. Why were so many of these revelations able to be cross-referenced in the Old and New testament, and why did they correlate if untrue?
The writers of the New Testament, for example, were not born for several centuries until after the Old Testament had been penned. You believe no doubt the stories like Jonah living inside the belly of the whale could not possibly be true.
They must be flights of fanasty, right? Did you ever consider not only was the Lord foreshadowing the fulfillment
of His forthcoming son but suspending believabilithy as a way to test the faith of His people.
Without faith, however, it is difficult to believe. Scripture speaks about faith being the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things unseen Keep in mind also, since God did not elect to send His Son to earth during Old
Testament days that rituals were still required for cleansing and purification. Thus, in this manner, the Old Testament prophets actually reflect today's Church more closely than our New Testament counterparts.
These individuals incurred a very special opportunity; their belief did not have to be suspended. Guess what, though? Many still did not believe even with the evidence right there in front of their very noses. Peter denied Jesus three times.
Thomas doubted His ability to calm the storm even though he saw the miracles Jesus performed with his own eyes. Paul executed Christians before his conversion. Again, He did not cause these events but allowed them, so that His unconditional love could be demonstrated. In other words, to illustrate that he would die for one and all.
After his crucixfixicion, death, burial, and resurrection some continued to doubt. Crucixfixcion was not an uncommon practice, so what set Christ's apart? He had never committed a sin. Thus, His blood was pure and able to cleanse our sins.
Subsequent to arising from the grave,he walked the earth for 40 days. His friends were sad believing he had disappeared or vanished. They missed their friend. And he was a friend: He wept for Lazurus and He chose to lay down His life for his friends. "In fact, scripture states: "No greater love has a man than this but that He lay down His life for His friends."
This emphasized the point He wanted to reunite His friends to the Father and be reunited with them in Heaven. As he walked the earth these 40 days, He visited many of His friends whom He revealed himself to by showing the nail scars in His hands and feet.
Some believed that their grief struck them to such a point that this was simply a trick of their imagination or heart. This period known as the Pentecost helped Jesus prepare His followers to receive the seal of the Holy Spirit; the revealer and affirmer of faith in the abscence of physical presence. God allowed this lack of faith for two significant reasons. First, since the beginning the Lord planted in man a spirit of free will or choice. He did not want robots but true followers. This demonstrated His loving spirit. He does not believe in forcing others to follow but leads through example. Secondly, He needed a bridge through which to connect the Jews and Gentiles and unify them unto the body of Christ.
His ascension into Heaven followed this time period.
Again, all there, served as witnesses. The Lord told them it was exapedient that He go away or the Father could not send a comforter to them. In addition, He went to prepare His heavenly Kingdom for future generations, a Kingdom possessed of such beauty and oppulence we cannot imagine. He wants and gives only the best to those who believe. For it is said that we shall walk on streets of gold, etc....
If he had not removed His physcial prescence, the body of believers would have dwindled because they would have begun to take Him for granted, Plus, the prophecy concerning the 12 tribes of Benjamin in the Bible had only been partially fulfilledt. The second part dealt with the succession of Israel from the other tribes. Why necessary?
Due to the fact, that upon Christ's return and His 1000 year reign, he would have to seperate the believers and nonbelievers.
When He sends Satan and His followers back into the pits of Hell for eternity We shall rise up to meet Him and He will combine both Heaven and earth back into one firmament as it was in the beginning and rule over both.
Those who harden their hearts and are blinded shall not receive the Holy spirit as their interpreter but shall be at the mercy of those who bring the gospel. "How sweet are the feet of those who impart the Gospel," to paraphrase and their refusal of this message is the reason they will be deceived into following Satan into the pits of Hell.
Thus, divine inspiration is the stamp of the Hoy Spirit over sinners (for all have sinned and come short of the Glory of the Lord) who accept the message. And they shall inherit eternal life and be co- heirs with Christ Jesus and the Father in both Heaven and Earth. For only a child can inherit a parents gifts not a stranger.
