Because they have been conditioned through the years to never question their faith.

The Bible is in perfect harmony throughout.
Though I am Sorry that ones don't know that or care to know.
It is just a common misconception you share in questioning.
no rudeness intended.
Thumbs down, I am sure , from all who will answer this ?.
Oh well... what can you do?
Here is a direct answer to your question:
The 1st link below tells about why people think just that & why it is just not true...
"While some may claim the Bible contradicts itself, has anyone ever shown you an actual example? We have never seen one that could withstand scrutiny. True, there may appear to be discrepancies in certain Bible accounts. But the problem usually is lack of knowledge regarding details and circumstances of the times."
the 2nd link below talks about how Christendom Has Betrayed
God and the Bible...Just to back you up a little.

I used to think the same way you do. I thought the Bible was very confusing and contradict itself. However I have been a Christian since 1995, and everytime I read the bible I learn something new. I pray and ask for knowledge and wisdom and be open to recieve Gods word everytime I read. The Bible may seem confusing, but believe it or not God is straight and to the point. He reveals his WORD to those who are willing to receive it and who believe.

As I stated in an earlier answer, the bible has been translated many times over from numerous languages. So that the version we have today is extremely exaggerated and misinterpeted from the original text.
That is why it is so contrdictive today. If you in the days of old they had to hand write it word for word, and it was monks who translated it from foreign languages to its current form.
If they did not like what it said, they were free to change it as not many could even read in those days let alone do it in different languages. Only those of royal birth or monks could read and write. So who would know if a change here or there was made? The people certainly wouldn't.
But they would do as the clerics, monks and royals would say the bible told them to do. After all, it was the Word Of God.

The bible does not contradict itself, it is the understanding of men who read it.

Same reason that a dozen witnesses can view the same crime and they all have different stories. But that doesn't mean it didn't occur now, does it?
Not only did people in the Bible write from their own perspective and understanding, but those who translated their words hundreds of years later did the same thing. What are the odds that everyone and everything would exactly agree?

Tell me one thing, what contradictions? There have been many scholars and learned men who have tried to pick apart the Bible, and all have come to one conclusion: There are no contradictions.

I have read it through at least a dozen times in half a dozen different versions, and I have spent considerable time reading the New Testament in the Greek. I have found no contradictions.
On the contrary, it is amazingly consistent when you consider it was written by perhaps 40 different people over the course of 1500 years.

Go read some Christian apologetics. They basically say you should ignore the fact that the bible is riddled with contradictions.

I think that all the religios texts contradict themselves---and this is because they arent written by God---but by imperfect men----and none of the religions are completely honest and are far from perfect--sorry

Take a Biblical Studies course at a half-decent university. This question is juvenile. Sorry, but it shows your lack of academic knowledge in this area. Don't go slinging mud unless you better understand what you are fighting against.
