How can people be so gullible and believe a fictionary work about as reliable as the DaVinci Code, which is correct only as far as it relates to Jesus married period?

Because it's in the bible and some people think that if it's in the bible, it MUST be true.

Which is pretty ridiculous. The biblical worldwide flood never happened and the story is based on an even EARLIER flood myth that never happened.

You don't know much about creation science do you. In that case I will go all the way into trying to explain it to you.

OK hear it goes. The flood wasn't caused by a giant rain cloud. In fact have you never heard of the canopy? That's in earth science not just in creation science. The canopy was a body of water that use to be above the atmosphere but now isn't. Scientist around the world have said that this is because it fell a couple thousand years or so ago causing flooding and the Ice age. Creation science says though that If the canopy did fall and the account in the Bible that water from the ocean and underground streams rose at the same time it would flood the whole earth. That's why I believe in the great flood.

Oh and The Turkish government has been trying to keep this a secret, but the Ark, Noah's Ark, was found in 2005 on top of mount Ararat. How do you get a boat that big up the side of mount Ararat without a flood?

Hurricane Katrina shows the effect of water on human life. In a desert culture familiar to those who wrote the Hebrew and Christian Scriptures water had originally symbolized chaos. When the Bible stories use water as an agent often do so in conjunction with some action or word of God. His presence and power uses the chaos to make a change, usually positive. The stories are revealing a truth not recording history in the modern sense. Nor are the Scriptures teaching science ,This is typically called "MYTH". It does not mean that something is a fairy tale. It means that there is a meaning behind the event that humans need to take to heart. Jesus being unmarried is likewise a "MYTH. It teaches that males do not have to dominate females in order to be fully men. That was the practice of the ancient world. To remain unmarried even in his own culture would have been very controversial and point out the very special mission Jesus had from God. He often stressed to his disciples that they had to abandon family ties to follow him. This would have been a death sentence in the extended family society of his time. It was precisely in this stance that Jesus illustrated the dependence on God required of his followers. They would belong as Jesus did to the wider Family of God. Sex was not sin. Nor was it Salvation. It was human and needed to be restored to the plan of God by the mission of Christ.

In the days of Noah, the land the people knew of was "the world" to them. If only their immediately area flooded, they would say their world had flooded. It's still undecided whether the Flood actually covered the entire earth, or only the world that Noah knew of (as far as he could see).

If you believe the Bible is a fictional work, then you do not believe in Jesus, so how can you agree with the DaVinci Code that Jesus was married?

to cover the finished Earth? not in the way Noah's flood is defined. I could remark approximately this: properly, theoretically, one drop of water would desire to conceal the finished planet in case you unfold it skinny adequate. it is does not be authentic - it may be decrease than some molecules according to sq. mile perhaps (a guesstimation). easily, the evidence factors to the water that shaped the Black Sea breaking by way of the Straits there being the probable source of the tale of the flood - not a international flood.

The Ancient Greeks reckoned it happened 3 times. I guess that's too far-fetched even for modern fundamentalists.

Barry Chase: Yes I've heard of continental drift. Australia, for example, goes at 5 cm a year. People didn't exist when the continents were joined - it was millions of years ago. If you're one of those who think the earth is only 6,000 years old Australia would have gone 300 metres... not exactly long enough to have been part of Asia...

As this question has been answered numerous times. The Bible clearly speaks of a canopy of water surrounding the earth. When it says that the flood occurred, it accounts for the fact that the canopy of water came to the earth, and that waters came from beneath the earth's crust.

Although it never happened, we are well on the way to having the flood the bible talked about. If global warming continues at the rate it is going now, it won't be long before the entire planet is covered in clouds. of course, it will probably fall as snow most places.

Excuse me. The flood is a fact. If God created the earth, and He did. Making it rain for 40 days is a piece a cake.

I don't care what scientist say. You are the one that is gullible to believe man and not God. You'll be soooorrry.
