try a mix of exercise, dont skip the fruit, that is rubbish. There are million of malnurished westerners because of silly ideas like that.

go swimming, walking, or add the odd 5 minute jog into your walk.

drink plenty of water. Try a couple of walks in the same day, should fire up your metabolism. Do some fun stuff with your kids. Join a club of some time, make exercise fun that way it will be easier to stick at.

You need to eat tons of fruit and veg to gain any weight this way, skip this american drivel diet, dont skip the one healthy thing you should be eating. The sugars are different to processed sugars, do a search on glucose, glycogen and fructose.

Make it a lifestyle change, not a faddy diet, you may meet a guy too.

The dietry advice already given is good - but.....
In general we tend to take in less calories than our parents did, yet we struggle harder with the weight loss.....I realise that having 2 children is keeping you on the go & can zap your energy, but it's not enough to burn some serious calories.....how about getting yourself a bicycle, get a trailer for the back...like this one on ebay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Bicycle-Bike-Trailer-Jogger-Combo-2-in-1-NEW-Seats-2_W0QQitemZ320130226363QQihZ011QQcategoryZ98932QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem
plonk the children in it & get out & do some cycling. I just ordered one so when I have one of the grandchildren over, I'm not stuck indoors....I just have to get out cycling, I'm addicted I'm afraid.
Cycling is a great all rounder for toning & helping to use up more calories than you need. Swimming is also a great calorie burner & one that you can include the children in, Then there's weightlifting (no! you don't end up like Arnie, that's a myth) you'll become so fit & healthy you won't believe the change in you.

Sorry honey, I'm not trying to trivialise the work you already have in caring for 2 children, I've had 5 myself, but although it wears you out, it's not using the right energy to bust it seriously for you....starving ourselves anymore isn't doing the trick in the long term & can be downright dangerous...
What may also help is to get a journal & keep a record of all you eat & drink, you may be very surprised.

find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Mustard is a secret bulge-buster. The item boosts your metabolism and raises natural ephadrine, the hormone that burns fat. According to Jeya Henry, professor of human nutrition at Oxford Brookes University, just a tablespoon in your food can reduce a flabby waist by 20 per cent!

I used to be under the delusion that I was fat for no reason. Then I discovered Nutrisystem. (Honestly...this is not a shameless plug for the Nutrisystem Company) I followed the diet to the "T" and lost exactly 70 pounds.

I now am no longer delusional and know that my weight issue was because of how I was eating.

First...see your doctor and get some blood tests. Tell him you eat right and exercise and cannot seem to loose weight. When your doctor gets the tests back he/she will be able to tell you if your weight issue is a result of a medical problem. If its not try a structured diet and stick to it!

Good luck!!! It can be done!

Fruit and veg still have calories. If you always do the same exercise, your body might have got used to it. Try to vary it a bit and try to bring your pulse up for about 30 minutes or so, that will encourage your body to burn fat quicker.

Sun-drenched side up please. Two eggs for breakfast is better than a bagel in terms of managing your weight, says a report from the International Journal of Obesity.

Try the South Beach diet. It worked for me. I lost 30 lbs on it. It is protein and vegetables for 2 weeks (no starchy foods and no sugars). Then you may gradually add those foods back into your diet after that. I've added a link to their website.
